I am a Flashlight Nut.  Started with the Surefire G2 several years ago.
Have since moved to LEDs and most recently found a very good High Performance LED.
It is the Ultrafire WF501b 5 mode with the CREE XML T6 LED.
Make sure it is the CREE XML T6 LED, there are others that are not nearly as bright.
It runs on a rechargeable Lithium Battery, 18650 or 2 each CR123 batteries.
The 5 mode has high, medium, low, strobe, and SOS capability.
The high is nearly 1,000 Lumens.  SERIOUSLY, it is BRIGHT.
I measured the current draw on high and it is 2.8 Amps.
The CREE Spec sheet on the XML T6 LED shows around 900 Lumens at 2.8 Amps.
Look for a package deal for the flashlight, a recharger, and two 18650 batteries for about $25
on Amazon or E-bay or just do a search on Google.
I bought my flashlights through Amazon for $15 plus $5 shipping.
I bought two rechargeable batteries and a charger thru Amazon for $15.
I typically buy the CR123 batteries through Battery Junction for $1 each plus shipping.
You can find similar deals all over the internet.
I have used my flashlight at night walking through the woods and they are UNBELEIVABLE.
I turn it down on low which is about 100 Lumens once I get out of the woods to a road.
It will illuminate things out to about 100 yards.
You can expect the battery to last about 1 hour on high, about 2 hours on medium, and 10 hours on low.
Keep in mind, low is as bright as the old Surefire G2 that only lasted 1 hour on 2 ea. CR-123 batteries.

I love the Streamlite Ultra Stinger rechargeable, which I keep in my pickup all the time. Extremely bright, much brighter than LEDs. You can get parts and rebuild it ecomonically, but the initial price is a bit steep. Gotta keep spare bulbs, since if you drop it, they break easy.

For your rifles and pistols go with the LED technology as they can take much more punishment.  Run time is higher as well.

Pending your application watch the brightness.  For interior work some of todays lights are way too bright!  Splash off most household walls can be blinding. I run two lights on my out the door AR for just this reason.  A little light can go a long way when it's dark.

Still looking for a light that can make it through the night on just one set of batteries.

Remember, lights also make great bullet magnets.

I use the 55 dollar stream light Q Beam. I dont use a flashlight in the woods. after my eyes adjust i can see just fine. but I carry the q beam in my backpack in case I have tyo blood trail a deer at night. For the money I have never found a better q beam. Small lights work for blood trailing but it makes it a lot harder. with the q beam everything gets lit up so its much easier to find.

I just got a new, INSIGHT X200, Cree High Intensity, LED,  Output 200 lumens. Takes 3 (123) batteries. Has, Constant on, Dimming, Momentary on, Strobe, S.O.S., Auto off. I can't believe how bright it is. Wal-Mart gets, $9.48 for 2 batteries, (crooks) but I sent off to, Surefire, and got 12 for $22.50. I like the idea of being able to change batteries right there in the woods if it goes dead.

Do the lights have  colored LED bulbs available like maybe red, green, or blue, as used for night hunting Hogs,  and Predators ?

Also if you have these lights for sale, please use the market place.

I have  a few of these the are on sale at lowes every once in a while for $19.  Good Power holds a charge only drawback is it get hot quick and shuts down to cool.  Great for spotting.

Would make a good defensive weapon as well. :)

I have thought about buying one, but $300.00?   Sure is bright.
