Hello, I'm new to the forum. I've always wanted a crossbow since I saw Crossbow on James Bond with the women going up the side of the mountain in some kind of huge man made basket. It was the only way to get to the compound at the top of this mountain.lol. I know kinda stupid. Anyways, you only live once so I want a crossbow. I really like Barnett so that's the company I choose. I have rotator cuff issues in both shoulders and I'm 47 yrs old. I do not hunt but when it comes to spending money I like to get what I pay for. I just bought my first AR15 and now it's time for a CB. For in case SHTF. Again I know stupid, but how cares it's my money!! lol
I want a bad ass CB so I've been looking at the Ghost 350, Predator and the Buck Commander. For my first I really don't think I need the expense of the Ghost 400 even though that is one bad CB. Just trying to find the one with least amount of problems. I always take care of my stuff so I will maintain it religiously..
With that said, just want some input to which one you guy's think for someone with shoulder injuries and something that I will have the least problems with. I read the Ghost 350 has a composite rail so I'm wondering if that's an issue and if I whould better off with the Buck for it's aluminum rail. I really like the Predator but really don't like the way the crank attaches to the back of the stock.(seems like it would be in the way). Yes I'm sure I will have to buy a crank to make it easier to cock because of my shoulder problems. Any help would be great! Thanks :thumbsu:

You may be better off moving this thread to the Barnett forum. But you probably can't go wrong with any of those choices.

As Buck_Slayer said. You might want to look into cocking devices and the models that they go to. For SHTF the recurve is your only option. Drawing these bows back with bum shoulders is going to be the key to your purchase. If you can't get it loaded, what good is it? Be sure to try them out somewhere. Make sure that you can get it loaded. Finding out after you buy it will be a harsh lesson in the Market Place. Crossbow resale is not like firearms. Keep that in mind. Good luck.

Welcome to the Nation.I have the Predator CRT (Carbon Riser ) its a little lighter than the reg Predator.Im getting 380fps and is very accurate.I have the cocking wench on mine and it doesnt get in the way at all.I remove mine after I cock the string and put it in my pack.I have pics in the Barnett forum page"show some pics of your Barnett" There is a allen screw that can be taken off so the wench mech. can slide off and on when needed to use the wench.Just the bracket stays attached to the Crossbow.

Thanks for the replys guy's. I called Barnett today and found out the Predator crt is 8.2 lbs an the ghost 350 is 7.6 lbs. Also they said they changed the rail on the Ghost to aluminum. I really wish I could see one, but any of the stores with in a hundred miles don't carry them. Kinda had the same problem when buying my AR. I'm thinking of driving to Nevada to Cabela's to see one in person. I'm starting to lean towards the Ghost for the weight. I do love the predator but I think the Ghost would suit me better. Thanks for the replys. I appeciate it a lot. I'll research the Barnett threads. Thanks

Rico, in response to your inquiry. Mine was purchased in October of 2011 from Eders Archery. They will price match anyone else. I paid about $425.00 for mine. Mine does not appear to have an aluminum rail although the rain is covered with a textured coating. I have not observed any problem with a warped rail. My arrows sit flat. The total weight with quiver and arrows is about  8 pounds which feels a lot lighter than the predator. I handled both models before deciding on the Ghost. I did discover that my left over arrows rebuilt with brass inserts forward shoot much better groups than the Barnett stock arrows. (See my previous posts) Unfortunately my recent hunting trip to Alabama was a bust with no one even seeing a good buck the whole hunt. Hope this helps.
