This is one thing that interests me, Shifting the limbs forward on a bracket keeping all angles the same but increasing the power stroke, I was looking at a Barnett Jackal in the sports store and it looked to be a fairly easy job so if it was increased by just 2" you could gain a extra 20fps or more , Has this ever been tried.
I have a Ghost 350 on the way and I would like to see if it could be done the extra 2" would make it the same as the 400 at a big saving.
Just a though.

Minefield,
If you were playing with a recurve I could see your point. I don't think this thought will work on your compound. Good luck, but be careful.

If you move the bow forward 2" where will you get the extra draw length from? The harness and cams more than likely dont have it in them. You will bottom out then be pulling on the limbs and your poundage will go through the roof.
This will not turn out well! Crossbow shape and size vs. performance is all about trade offs here and there.

Minefield, angling the limbs forward would get you no advantage by itself. Angling limbs forward alone would increase stress on the limbs. Cable and string length would also have to be altered, as well as the cam size [diameter] would need to be increased to get extra draw length. These are not easy, cheap, or worthwhile things to do, better to buy a faster crossbow to start with if that's what you want.

Cheapest and safest way to add 20fps or more is to add another 100 bucks to the upfront cost of purchasing a Barnett. This way you also dont void your warranty.
