Hi Md2tx
Sorry to say but you fell into the same trap most people do, but not to worry just take the string back to the archery shop or somebody at an archery club
so it can be rewound.
Flemish twist string are great to make and shoot, it is the only bow string you can make while sitting down watching TV (maybe not that easy ).
Good luck you haven't wasted your $$$$$

Hi Md2tx
Glad to hear every thing worked out ok, you won't regret changing over to a flemish twist string.
They shoot quieter, they are faster and stronger but require more waxing.
Good shooting.

TO:  SFA MEMBER          I'm reading your reply with a view towards expanding my knowledge about the flemish string....You say the flemish requires more waxing....I've got that....but do you also mean more lubricating of the serving?  Or .... both string and serving?  Just need to learn something here and your guiding hand is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Hi Muskrat
The flemish string because of it's construction on the ends needs more wax to lubricate the twisted string ends so they will pull tight while under pressure.
The wax helps to keep the strands on the ends tidy, the center serving is treated the same as any crossbow string.

Flemish Twist strings can only be used on Recurve Bow, Longbow and Recurve Crossbows with good results.

Excalibur Crossbow Arrow speeds obtained using 350 grain arrow and optional 1989 Flemish Dyna Flight String

Something I heard a long time ago. If all else fails, read the directions.
