Here is a tutorial on the Easton Tracer nock.  It is a lighted nock that you can turn off and on.  When in the off mode, you can practice with this nock all summer long and it will not use any battery life.  Then before each hunt, you turn it to the active mode.  This also prevents any accidental activation of the nock while in your during transport or in your case.  They weigh in at about 26-27 grains. (don't forget to subtract the weight of your current nock.)  Easton makes these nocks to fit both carbon and aluminums and in flat or moon nocks.  Check it out.

That is pretty wild. the little buggers have a microprocessor built in. I wonder if the battery is replaceable.  Anyone know?

When will these be available Jeff? I'm tired of my Lumenocks, they get turned on in my case and sometimes I awake in the middle of the night to a red glow from my arrows across the room.

What size shafts do they fit?  Do they make them in diff sizes to fit most of the carbon shafts?

I have one coming with my arrow building stuff to play with and hunt with.  I wonder if I can get the arrow with the tracer nock to fly the same as my target arrows.  I can adjust extra weight to keep the total weight the same but FOC will vary.  Only testing will tell I suppose.

You don't want your front of center to change.  You need to add weight to the rear of the shaft.  I will try to post a tutorial on how to do this later.

So I'll need to weight the rear of all my arrows so I'll have the same foc & total weight if I want the tracer nocked arrows to match. Always complications.  Thanks for the tip.

Not hard at all to do.  I will show you how later.

I installed them on 3 of my arrows last fall.
Didn't change anything else, arrows still shot to the same point.

Worked great, never failed to light when shot.
I installed the magnet on the arrow retainer, then put a strip of muffs tape over it, stayed put all season. I also keep an "extra" magnet stuck on the riser.

And as UL stated you can turn them off. No false triggers.

Only downside I see with them is you can't change the battery.
