Does anyone know if flat nocks can be shot out of carbon express bows? They are mentioned in the manual but without detail the arrows that come with them are moons so thats what ive been building
with. After reading posts about the benifits they can have id like to try them.

Moon?

What would the benefits be? The only thing I can think of that would be is you would'nt have to worry about the cock feather....

Moon?

Rock, if your crossbow is not the open rail or "rail-less" design, and your string is down on the rail where it belongs, and the center of the string contacts at or near the center of the end of your arrow, then I would have no fear at all of shooting flat nocks.
The Horton TRT UL I had held the string up off the rail when it was cocked, and it was the rail-less design, AND the string did not contact the center of the arrow, all things begging for disaster for anyone who might be tempted to try shooting flat nocks out of it.
Arrow diameter; for example the difference between 2219 and 2117 can alter where the string contacts the arrow somewhat.  The 2219 center would be higher above the rails than the 2217 and would make a slight difference in the contact.  Serving diameter can also have an effect using flat nocks.
Shooting moon nocks can cover a multitude of sins, and all-around safer to shoot IMO because they allow for greater forgiveness in loose specifications and better capture of the arrow by the string.  Personally, I like to see a xbo made with the kind of precision that will allow use of the flat nock, but I would probably use a moon anyway to be sure UNLESS THE MFR SPECIFICALLY CALLS FOR FLATS.
