I am thinking about trading a boat motor for a quad 400.The motor is worth $300-400 or so.I have read some bad things about the quad 400 having limb problems on this site.Is it a bad bow or are these just bad experiences? If I trade for the bow Im sure I will get no warranty. Do the problems Ive read about pertain to a certain year that have been corrected or are they again just bad experiences ? The guy says he has had no problems with it and it has never been dry fired.I have not seen the bow yet.Is there anything I should look out for? I do plan on shooting it before I trade.Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Just so your informed, you can buy a new quad 400 from Walmart for $380.

The Quad 400 is a great bow alot of issues are the user I think.Maybe issues with the early Quads but not no issues now.Wax and make sure arrow is seated before firing! Also like Mich Ten pt says you can buy brand NEW for $400 and its a 2010 or 2011 style.How old is this CB?does it have a solid Fore grip or the hole grip like the Jackal Fore grip?

He claims its last years model 2011 I would guess.The fore grip looks solid from what I can tell in the small cell phone picture I have seen.It has a 4X32 scope on it Quiver and some bolts.The motor I might trade is a 1978 Johnson 15 horse that I have not used for 10 years so if its a good bow it would be a good deal for me.I dont have a extra $400 siting around.If i sold the motor for that the wife would not let me spend the money on another crossbow.

If you haven't used the motor in that long of time then I.say go for it ..can't go wrong there..I have just recently gotten a quad 400 and I love it..I have already put over 100 shots out of mine between me and my brother and it gets better every time.....I think the limb breaks were more with the camoflage limbs now they put the black ones that are a better success
