Hi
I went up with my bolt weight to 465gr ( it was 420 gr) and i try shooting my Penetrator today..i can tell right away the speed is slower, but the surprise was the noise..i can tell the noise is higher now..i love speedy xbow but i hate the sound coming when shooting, Should i add limp saver or bowjax ,,or just go back to my old bolt weight??
Thanks
My penetrator love speed just like me !!!

Aimo,
Shoot the heavier bolt. Your crossbow will thank you in the end. You accuracy should be decent once dialed in. It's not gonna be that much slower for what it's worth. IMO. I love speed as well. And probably would try to shoot the lite stuff. But in the end, you'll probably go back to the heavier bolt. Good luck!!

I agree with above that heavier bolts are generally better (all things being equal).
You also gotta realize that the "noise" you hear is actually just your jawbone/cheekbone absorbing and then amplifying the vibration from the stock at bolt release and transmitting that vibration as sound to your ear. It "sounds" MUCH louder than it actually is. It's kinda like when you hear your voice on video and you're like "I sound like a girl". OR when you videotape your xbow shooting you're stunned to hear that it's actually much much quieter than you thought. Does that make sense?
