Been checking in all day but nothing much going on here.  Figured I'd throw a pebble in the pond and make a ripple.

So, anything exciting going on with anybody?  I've had lots of excitement today.  Every time I eat I end up running outside to barf.  I bet you wanted to know that, huh?  HA!  Anyway, that has been going on for three days now.  I might be skinny the next time I throw a picture up here.

Lacey came by for a visit this evening.  She moved out about a month ago.  She knows everything now, lol.

Got our first goose egg today.  Now, THAT was exciting.  The goose laid it under the back porch this morning.  We went out town to get some chicken feed and when we got back it was ON the porch in front of the door.  Evidently Cody, our German Shepherd, didn't like it being in his favorite hangout, so he moved it.  It didn't even have a scratch on it.  Isn't that the dangedest thing?

Well, I think I'll go do some reading.  I had Carol make a pot of coffee.  I don't even like the stuff that much.  The diet Coke didn't like it in my stomach; maybe I can keep the coffee down.

Anyway, I don't have a lot to tell, but I just figured I'd chat at my friends for a minute.  I hope you all are having a great day, and if there is any excitement going on, well, I hope it is a lot better than mine.  Sometimes no excitement at all is the best though.  :)

My Dad used to call it "goin out to feed the dog". When I broke my back, my main stomach nerve connected to the break would constantly be irritated and I would chuck without any warning. Went on for 3 years till I found the drug that suppressed it. Had some interesting encounters till embassesment kept me out of the public eye for a while. Dam near broke my nose on the driver side window at 50 mph.LOL .Prayin your guts are right as rain in no time.

Specialized....got the same issue...have had it for six years.....went through six weeks of physical therapy...which helped a lot...had not had symtpoms til last summer...got a new MRI....one of my vertebrae actually got better...the other one worse....gonna try another round of therapy.....I'd need basically the same surgery that Peyton Manning had.....

Ranger...got nothing exciting going on...sorry to disappoint you....even my deer season was boring...nothing but a freezer-filler doe late in January......have been doing a lot of scouting....found some spots that I should've been hunting...they had me guessing wrong all year......no wonder they live so long....

Ranger,

Between a total hip replacement, TURP, rotator cuff surgeries, and 6+ and ongoing weeks of chest infection; I have been reading, but I just have not been up to adding much improving conversation.

Hopefully the next six months will be better than the last six months. If it had not been for some very thoughtful young friends, my freezer would be empty this season.

As Art Linketter said, “Getting old is not for the timid or faint at heart”.

SPECIALIZED, I have that spinal stenosis in my lower back.  I had an injection and had the same experience as you: It only worked for about a week.  I went back and had a second one a few months later and it did better, so hopefully your second shot will do better this time.  I'm due for another one, but been putting it off.  I'm sort of tired of getting needle poked all the time.  Cancer doc checked my blood last week and they had to stick me several different places before they got any blood.  That happens most every time.  For a long while I didn't pay much attention to it.  You'd think they wouldn't bother me any at all after all this time, but the more I've got stuck over the past few years the more reluctant I am to get it done.  I guess my Tuff-o-meter isn't what it used to be.  Probably start crying when I just see the needles before long.  Maybe if I knew I'd get a lollypop afterwards....

Hankenhunter, I actually call it "feeding the chickens." LOL.  Only thing is I have to be careful about that because if I puke up some of my medications it might send them to that big chicken lot in the sky.  Actually, I think that may have happened a couple of times.  Stupid chickens.

Briarpatch, you are right.   I sure am disappointed you are not having any excitement.  HA!  Actually, that vertebra problem sounds just like the kind of excitement you don't need.  But if you get that surgery you can brag about having the same thing done as Peyton Manning.  Boy, that would be so exciting you'd be beating the wimmen off you with a stick.  Then your wife would beat you with a skillet!

Meat Hunter, sounds like you've been run through the mill.  Well, anytime you want feel like jumping in with some conversation you know we'll all be around to holler back.  I know when I was unable to hardly walk or do anything at all, this site was real uplifting for me.  Still is.  Well, except for when Dave Hawk or Sporty87 get on here.  They always give me a hard time.  And I've never been anything but absolutely nice to them with never a bad comment or making fun of them either.  You know, I think they are just jealous of me.  I can understand it.  Everyone wants to be a Ranger.  My wife even married me just so she could be a Ranger too!

Gray Fox, I'm plumb tickled you don't have any ailments.  Daggone, it is good to know not everybody is suffering from something.  I wouldn't wish my health problems on anybody.  Well, except for one I didn't have.  Lock Jaw.  I have wished that on a few people who couldn't shut up.  HA!  Hey, the prayers are always good.  I appreciate all those I can get.  :)

No health problems here either right now Ranger, for which I'm VERY thankful. The VA Health System took care of what could have ailed me into a grave with that cancer surgery last July and aside from that, I'm doing just fine. Still waiting for the Dems and Repubs in Texas to stop fighting about re-districting lines for our four new congressional seats so we can all find out when our primary elections will actually take place so I can put out my campaign signs and get this election in gear. Other than that, it's all good!

Kinda in the same boat as some of the others. Basically, get up in the morning put on my eyes (bifocals) take the teeth outta the little tub, and after tomorrow, plug in the new ears from the VA, take a few meds, have couple cups of coffee, I'm ready to face the day. As long as I take it a little easy, even the emphysema isn't isn't a problem.

All in all, I'm in purty good shape, considering the shape I'm in. The eyes still open in the morning so that's always a good sign.

Hey now RANGER is in shape.  He's a like a carpenter, he's on the level = his bubble is in the middle!!!  Ya, right you never pick on me or poor old DaveHawk.  Just wait till he gives you a ride on that new Harley, you'll be screaming like a girl!!!!  But that's ok too.
Like most of us I have my up days and my ouch days, ain't much I can do about it so I just go on!!!  At least I can get around a lot more than I could last year and the year before.  So that's good.  I even get to ride my Harley (course it's got a sidecar on it now) from time to time.  I even pick up the phone and call and talk to my "friends" from time to time (which is more than I can say for SOME) just pickin'.  Ya'll are part of my family so ya'll be good now Ya Hear!

I'm glad some of the gang got rousted up.  I got worried maybe everyone had croaked and was just about to send flowers out to everybody.

At least I have witnesses to how Sporty and Dave Hawk treat me.  Ya'll did see that, right?
