I wonder if they're more common the farther north you go.  He sure does blend in with the snowy background.  Thanks for posting.

Zrt1200,

Not to burst your bubble, but I was sent these same photos about 4 years ago or so. I lived in the U.P. for 10 years, so friends always send me things about the U.P.

I was very suspect that they were actually from the U.P., just by looking at the roadway, and crushed stone narrow shoulders. The pic with the car in it pretty much sealed it for me, it has a front license plate. Sure it could be an out of stater on vacation, or a cheese head out for a Sunday drive, but my guess is it is somewhere in Idaho, the color combination is consistent with an Idaho plate. I blew it up, but the picture became too grainy to be for certain. My second guess would be somewhere in Canada, but their license plates are mostly a one color background AFAIK? I also have relatives in Ontario, don't think it is there either, if the plate were to be the clue.

I have old Air Force buddies that live in the SW U.P., and Northern Wisconsin, and have never heard anything about these moose from them.

Read the information in this link, both above and below the pictures, then decide for yourself. I have already come to my own conclusion.

The friend that sent these to me said they were from the UP, I have no reason not to belive him. I guess they could be from some where else?? Does Idaho have cedar tree's?? Look in the background??? I know the UP does. These were supposed to have been taking in the north west corner of the UP.

The e-mail I got a few years back said they were from the U.P. too, but no Yooper I know has ever heard of them. I would think after 5-6 years of these pictures making their rounds, that we would have read about this, or seen coverage on one of the outdoor shows by now. I'ts definitely possible, that is why I said come to your own conclusion.
