Well guys i have a Horton Legend XL175 with Simmons 3x9 scope , It's been a great workhorse, got plenty of deer with it.

Prior to deer season last year the cable just broke on the cams and it obliviously need a cable and a new string. i bought a Barnett Ghost 400 in a mad rush for season.
My question to Horton and you the hunters is it worth getting it repaired for 1- a backup and mixing up the hunting some?
Any idea of cost and turn around time?

thanks!

Sure, Would get it repaired, if for no other reason, nothing beats an available back up when you have a problem in hunting season.

Get it repaired!  Many shops around you should stock strings and cables for it.  Once repaired seeing its your work horse sale the Barnett! The Legend was a great crossbow.  Sad that its gone seeing the stock was so nice.

If you want to part with it let me know

i do have ta keep the Ghost 400 i feel the need for speed! lol

I did call them and here is the skinny..
Cost for the string is $20.00 and cable is
$25.00  turnaround time is about 14 days. shipping back is $12.00. if any other damage they'll let me know. all you need to do is unbolt the front clip and remove the limb chassis and send her in.
So i'll be boxing her up for that price and sending early next week.

Its good to know that Horton is willing to fix past older products without killing us on the price.

THANK YOU HORTON!

Cool :thumbsu:   I see you're in NE Ohio...their factory is in Kent.  Don't know how far of a drive that is from you?  I know in the past during "slow season" (not deer season) they take care of walk in warranty customers while they wait during normal business hours.  Now THAT'S customer service right there!

Can't beat that. One thing for sure you know there were no other problems or Horton would have been letting you know.

Sounds like you got a heck of a good deal... I believe if you were to buy the string and cables yourself you would have paid the same or more and they installed them for you. And I can tell you right now they made zero money on the shipping, so Horton done you right!!
