Anybody familiar with this blind?  Getting my gear together for fall.  L60"XW60"XH62", 14 lbs.  Would be using it solo.  I believe it has no floor.  Gander has them in stock for $79.99.  Would appreciate any feedback.

I have 2 of them.  Slight pain in ars to put the roof braces in in the dark.  Make sure that you practice taking it down to get the actions down pat, so you aren't looking stupid trying to do it with your buddies watching. and last, Dunhams puts these on sale all the time for 49.99

I have one also. Good blind for one person. As said above, practice putting up and folding up. My father showed up at my place with his all unsprung in the back of his Tracker.I laughed myself stupid
listening to his harrowing tale about an evil blind that tried to eat him while he was folding it up.
I like the toss and open feature, just wish there was close feature to go with it.

Think I'm going to go with it (hope it doesn't eat me alive).  Dunhams currently has it for the same price but I'll keep my eye open for that sale.  The double bull looks like an excellent blind, presently though it's out of my budget.  Thanks fellas for the comments.

Yes, cheap price, and cheap materials, but for starting out, it'll do you. Ameristep makes blinds with great designs, they just use too cheap of material ( very thin) and they either dry rought or tear easily and once it tears, it's done. Ive had great luck with the Eastman Outfitters blinds. I use pop ups year around and in the Texas heat and weather and so far, they''ve been the very best all around. Good heavy materials and design. Nothing worse than getting a pop up blind and the windows are set too high. Also, the doghouse blind, you can't stand up straight in it. That sucks for long sits where you need to stand and stretch.
Some pop ups are way overpriced for what they are, so go look at what fits your needs and price and just make sure the wall materials are not thin plastic that will tear easily, and the windows aren't too high to sit and shoot in a normal chair. Good luck!

Well thank you Darl'n that's some excellent advice, and practical too.  I've been still hunting for a number of years but the blind thing is rather new to me.  Thought I'd try something inexpensive for starters (weight is also a factor), and after getting a taste of it will seek out something more effective and longer lasting.  By the way, I've enjoyed watching some of your videos over the last few months.  Looks like you run a top of the line operation!  Keep it up, America needs you.

LOL! Why thank you sir! And one more piece of advise- take a pee can with a lid! Enjoy the ground. It's much more comfortable, and not far to fall if you take a nap during the day.

You might want to pick up some decent hold down pegs also. The ones supplied wouldnt stand up to a good fart(to short).

Ha!  Not unlike the cheap stakes you get when buying most any new tent.  Thanks for the heads up!

I have one and have used it for about 7-8 years now with no problems. The hardest thing I had to do with this blind is learn how to fold it back up again lol. I like the height of it, because being 6' 2" tall means I need something that I can stand up in and stretch the legs a bit and this one allows me to do that with room to spare. If you ever upgrade to another model of blind and this one still works, you can use it when you go camping or tailgating at your sports events as long as you bring one of those portable potties like the Lugable Loo for example.

I agree on Taking a look at the killzone blinds. I have the killzone Turret, it can get very hot hog hunting here in Texas and to be able to open up the top to give better ventilation is a plus you also have a 360 unobstructed view looking out of the top. This is the one I have  KillZone Turret XL Hub Style Ground Blind

One of our pop-ups is  Killzone, it's faded a bit over the year, but I sure like it. I will need to replace the elastic loops that hold up the window  panels over the mesh screen, but it's been a good blind and that is such a minor issue. It's a hub so very easy to set up and take down, that's what I like the best. We usually leave them in place during hunting season. put them up a month before the season opens.
We got an Ameristep several years back, a pole broke the very first time we set it up in the living room, packed it right up and took it back to Academy, got a full refund.

Havn't made a purchase yet.  That Killzone Hub looks like a pretty darn good one.  Am giving it serious consideration.  Thanks folks for the replies.

The fiberglass poles will break in any kind of wind.  When I'm not using it I leave all of the zippered areas open so the wind blows through.  We leave ours up for several months at a time.  The only reason I have a couple of these is the cheap price.  If they get swiped I'm only out $50 instead of 200 +!!! Due to a hip replacement this spring and another to follow in July, I will use a "directors" chair instead of my short hunting chairs.  Do not shoot through the mesh with a bow or gun.

Thanks flatlander, have always had my suspicions about shooting through the mesh.

I figured the Doghouse blind would be pretty fragile.  Good idea about leaving the windows open.
