Great stories and wonderful pictures.  I admire your turkey calling skills.  I've called two turkeys to me in my life and got them, but that was years ago, and never before or since have I been able to do it.  Thanks for your hunting adventures!  ;)

I'm doing okay although this body I am in isn't doing so hot. But the Lord is giving me a new one, so why worry about it?

I only have about 9 turkeys to my name and still like the shot gun. No escape , dead bird when he is in range. This was my bird on the farm earler this year.
I got him ! made my way down to Va at 2AM arrived at 4:30/ 1st light this bird started off gobbling and would not stop. It's now 8 AM and he is still going at it walking back and forth on the other side of the small ridge trying to get me to come to him. Finally he come in see's the Tom decoy , struts and then walks off. I fingered time to make my move if I want him. I make a mad dash 250 yards down the trail over the ridge and plop down 30 yards from the lake edge and 30 yards from the rise of the small ridge. I give out a few yelps and sit there 15 minutes later here he come's. Not a care int eh world I give him one soft call , he stops looks up and down he went at about 35yards.
Bird Bird #7 Man I love this sport !
9.5" beard
1 1/2" & 1 3/8" spurs

This is the bird Jake and I were after when the boss Tom cut him off and Jake shot the Big one. 3 years later it was His turn.
Ford Model "T"
Jack was tryng to pull the back feathers off while no one was looking.

Congratulations on your first crossbow turkey.  I was fortunate enough to get my first crossbow turkey last week and had an incredible show to boot.  Sitting in a blind in southern Iowa as the light came up with several gobs around me.  The first gob out of the tree walked straight to my hen and jake decoys and stood at 21 yards right between them as if sizing them up.  I couldn't shoot right away without shooting the jake decoy so I waited a bit and the bird mounted the jake decoy.  He was bent over the decoy facing me when I shot and my partner said I hit him. but there was no reaction.  The bird stood right there looking at us and then went absolutely nutts over the decoy!  He literally jumped up and down, pecked and humped the decoy until it was flat on the ground.  This went on for long enough for me to load my Tenpoint CSR and then shoot him square in the chest which caused him to run out of sight.  My partner and I were amazed by the whole thing.  We waited a bit and followed up to find a 23lb bird about 60 yards away.  When I cleaned the bird, I found that the first shot went along the side of the breast and cut him and then ended up passing through his leg at the crotch.  It would have killed him eventually.  The only thing I can think that caused his reaction is that he thought that the jake spurred him and he was very pissed about it.  Should have had a video!!
