Legislation signed by Governor Corzine this week, which authorizes Sunday bow and arrow deer hunting on State wildlife management areas or on private property. Crossbows are expected to be included in the 2009-2010 bow hunting seasons.
The legislation is effective immediately, allowing Sunday bow and arrow deer hunting during the 2009-2010 bow hunting seasons. September 13, 2009 will be the first Sunday bow and arrow deer hunting day in zones where the bow and arrow deer hunting season opens September 12. In zones where bow and arrow deer hunting opens on October 3, the first Sunday bow and arrow deer hunting day will be October 4.
