Has anyone seen anything yet regarding what Scorpyd may be doing that's new for 2014?

Any new bow of course, but also any new changes/improvements in existing models?

With a number of the other companies putting out info on new items, or like Barnett even having started selling the new 2014's, I wondered if I'd missed something regarding Scorpyd.

My main focus is really on what new scopes I'll be buying this year for my 165 & another new rifle this year.

This rifle is going to be a even better long range predator & chuck gun than my 22-250 or 243.  CHeetah, 22-243 A.I. a wildcat, in more than just it's name.

Just the 2014 V-Tech. Ventilator stock and rail with a Velocity riser, and up to 165# limbs. Supposed to shoot around 412 FPS.

We'll know more in a couple weeks.

Lightest it'll see is the Nosler BT 60gr.

A-max 75

Swift Sirrocco 75

Sierra 65

I'd love to see it shoot the Swift well, even at those speeds I think this one would give good performance in regards to expand rather than explode.  Yote hides have gone up in value, so don't want softball sized holes if it's avoidable when hits are at less than extreme range.

But on chucks........heh.....let the red mist fly! !  And the 60 & 65 gr. loads should do that.

Buddy & I once worked up some 100gr. 7mm Rem mag loads....LOL....First shot on a chuck he told me I missed, said I'd hit a old field tile as he saw a bunch of red dust......wasn't dust, vaporized 80% of chuck.  Kinda evil, but tons of fun! !

The 6x47 Lapua is a good round also, but I've not found even close to the same amounts of load data for that one's .224 wildcat version.

You guys are also right that it's going to be a bit hard on barrel life, I"m hopeful by careful barrel cleaning to get 12-1400 rds, less than 1/2 of what I got from my last 22-250 barrel.  I've a bad knee that I'm not going to be able to dodge surgery on much longer.  That could eliminate my winter predator hunts.  So I'm gonna get me another chucker that can reach WAY out, .......love long range varmint shooting on chucks.  Also would like to go west for P dogs, which is a hunt long in the bucket & one knee issues would not eliminate.  If surgery goes real well I'll continue as I always have & if not I've been making contingency plans.........I'll never give up the hunt!  Just may need to tweak some methods.

I use to hunt chucks with a 300 win Rem 700 Sendero and a 22-250 Rem 700 VLS. I used the 50gr Vmax out of the 22-250 pushing 3850fps. Out of the 300win I used 180gr NBT pushing about 3100fps. I liked to shoot them in the headlights.

Try hunting them with a bow. Sneak in on them. Its a blast!

Hi All,

My guess is that Rex and Jim most likely won't do any special release advertising on this forum for their new 2014 product releases before the 2014 ATA Show, but the good news is that were down to about 15 or 16 days till showtime, so we're starting to get very close.

Similar to Vortex using their forum catagory to pre-release 2014 scope information, it would be a great idea to reach a wider range of ScorpyD fans by giving us something to dream about, but in the past they've not done so, so I wouldn't count on it this year either.

You gotta admit it's a little bit like wondering what your getting for Christmas?  The anticipation is killing me, but at the same time it's great!!!!!!  :)

Regards,

Xbow755

Yeah, it doesn't do anything for me either. Right in the middle of my Ventilator and RDT 165. I could build that bow right now if I wanted to. But I don't want to.

I suspect there will be more than just the V-Tech.

I also think someone needs to study up on Scorpyds history. Some of us have pre-bought Scorpyd bows before the ATA. They usually let the cat out of the bag right before the show. The V-Tech was let out a month before the show. I think mainly to see if it would create a stir. I don't think it did with current owners, but I do see the appeal to new buyers. Since these parts have already been manufactured and proven, they could possibly already have some built and ready to ship?
