Kinda limited to what my local (big named) sports store had in the form of targets, but I had to settle on a Block. I've read all the posts about them, but I really want to shoot my Titan this weekend, so I had to settle. I figure if its as hard to pull out as everyone says, I'll just bring it back. But the question I have is, has anyone tried to make a "block" style target out of newspaper? and if so, how did it work? I really liked the "clothes in a burlap sack" target and just might have to try it!

Get a can of jig-a-loo and spray the first 6 or 8 inches of the arrow shaft with it, and your arrows will pull fairly easy. The only thing that changed when I started using it, was I no longer had to clean foam residue from the arrow shafts. Penetration didn't change at all. I am shooting into a morrell six shooter.

The cheapest route one can go seems to be to stuff a burlap or mesh bag tightly with old clothes. If you don't have enough leisure suits in your own closet, try stopping by a thrift store or church that recycles clothes. They always have clothes to be thrown away because of stains, rips, etc. that would serve nicely in a burlap bag stopping arrows. In addition to clothes, I've gotten old leather coats from these places that can be recylced into any number of leather projects. While you don't have to, a small donation would be appreciated and might get them to set aside articles of clothing that you could recycle in other projects.

Well, the "Block" I got worked out just fine. The 20" arrows penetrated approximately 2/3rds of the way into the target with both field points and Thunderhead broadheads. Just as everyone said, the arrows were a bit difficult to get out but after reading ALOT of posts on here I took the advise of spraying them with some drylube and giving the arrows with a field point a twist while pulling them out and I really didnt find it all that hard to get them out. SO, overall I'm satisfied.

You might want to try Danny Miller's arrow pullers too. These will pull 'em out of anything easily http://www.excalibur...ghlight=pullers
