I recently purchased one of these targets for $99.00 plus tax and am very disappointed in this purchase to say the least, first off the target doesn't even stop My bolt before it sinks up so far that it tears the flecting off  then Block claims "easy one hand arrow removal" this claim is laughable as just the opposite is true, this target is by far the hardest target to get an arrow pulled that I have ever seen, "Two hands and one knee removal" would be a better slogan. I do shoot a very powerful crossbow (Bowtech Strykeforce) and this target would probably stop bolts out of most Xbows before they went so far in as to tear off the fletching, but the EASY one hand arrow removal claim is still a joke!.............Stay away from this target guy's spend your money elsewhere..................VaHillbilly.

Did you buy The Block made specifically for crossbows? I love mine, use regularly. Does a great job stopping arrows and removal is easy.

Try a Rinehart 18-1 target.  I think you will like it.  Plus, it has a 1 year warranty on it, and that includes shooting it with broadheads.:D

I've got the big 18" "block"...it stops most...everything I have just fine.
Only the Stryker arrows get burried up to the vanes.

Everything that shoots 375fps or less...no problem.
I DO...have to give the arrow a twist before I pull it out.  As with many/most foam targets, the arrow puts enough heat into the foam that the two form a light bond.  But as I said, a quarter twist, and they come out just fine.

Mike

P.s. - now that it's getting...well used, I dooo need to turn it around.  Even the slower arrows are going in deeper and deeper...!

I too recently purchased the orange block target for crossbows.
My intent is to use this for limited broadhead usage. I have about 20 arrorws into this thing and it is getting chewed up fast.
I think any layered targets will all go fast.
The 99.00 for this thing might ahve been an oversight since I may ahve been able to by a Gander mountain block for about 59.00.
I think it will last for the rest of this year and likely next, so it really in not that bad of a deal. I would say if u shoot at the same dot u will be going into the fletch by about the 5th or 6th arrow. This target requires moving the aim point about 2 inches or so every couple shots...tape some buiness cards on there or something;)
ARROW SPEED IS 334 AND WEIGHT IS 412 GRAINS AT 25 YARDS
The RedHots do pull out fairely easy. I think alot of the removal from the target issue is related to the finish used on the arrows. This is a well known factor in the compound world.
Just a thought.

I have the Block Elite and am pleased. I also shoot a SF with Red Hot arrows/125g field tips. It has held up very well - nearly 500 shots and negligable wear.

I just ordered a Spyder 2.0 rated for 400 fps. I shoot a Predator and it goes past the nock in a Block. Anyone have experience with the longevity of a Spyder target?

I've been using the Spyderweb since spring with excllent results with field tips.  Just started using American Whitetail's Crossbow King.  Stops the broadheads just fine, but getting them out requires a lot of work.  Might get a little better with some use.   I'm shooting 1" Sonics into it with the dull practice blades and they are a real bear to get out. I have to lay the target down and put my knee on it and yank upward as hard as I possibly can to get them moving. A lot tougher than I thought it should be.

I shoot a "Block Fusion" and it seems to be holding up pretty well. Probably got 100 or more shots into it, field tips and broadheads. I can't say if my opinion counts for much since I'm firing somewhere around 260fps.:)

I read some good stuff on crossbownation about the Spyder web target's so I spent the $125.00 on a Spyder web 1.5 XL, the target is 18x18x14 and I am more than pleased, I love it! it easily stops My arrows which weigh 500 grains and chronograph 355 FPS at 4ft, they sink up into the Spyder web only about 5 or 6 inches  and are super easy to remove using only one hand, heck you could remove them using only two fingers. I highly recommend this target. the only drawback is this target is for field tip use only, you will still need a broadhead target............................VaHillbilly.

When I bought my Parker Cyclone X-bow I did a lot of research!  When I bought my layered target I went on the recomendation of the Bass Pro salesman.  He sold me a McKenzie layered foam with the welded core (NOT the X-bow model).  I have shot it a lot over the last 9-months, mostly with field points.  It has held up pretty well but the broadheads do chew it up much faster.  Most of my arrows are going in all the way to the fletching now.  I have a fast bow and this vertical bow target has done pretty well.  I would think the X-bow model of the McKenzie would be a good choice.

Your time will come.  Being a Vahillbilly I can’t imagine you are too far from some type of critter with an open season.

If you're not satisfied with your Block, have a "Block Party" with it and let your buddies use it up.  Maybe they'll sink em right up to their fletching, maybe not.
Charge them $0.50 per shot and with that money go out and buy the Rinehart 18-1.

Done!  Guaranteed for a year.
