Just wanted to check if anyone has gotten one yet.  I had a big doe hang up at 50 yards Saturday afternoon.  It's like she knew my limit.  Watched her feed for about 30 minutes.  Had to practice a little self control.

I'm seeing alot but being more choosy. I've still got plenty in the freezer from last year. I let a six point walk right by me opening day. I passed on him and have seen lots of does. I've only missed a few days because of rain and they're giving it out for us the rest of the week. I came out late Saturday night and my footpegs on my 4 wheeler was under water at 50 degrees. My feet got wet and had to feed 7 dogs and other stuff before coming in now I have a bad head and chest cold. I'll hit em again when this rain stops..........good luck..........Tommy

Have not had an opportunity to go yet...real bummer!  It seems like it has rained here every day for a month, and more expected.  Suppose to clear off and get much cooler by the weekend.  Maybe then!!

They were giving out 90% for us today as of last night. This morning they said just a few sprinkles. I think I'll go to some public land after while. Can get about 5 hrs in and might plug an old nanny.

Had a great day Friday, was in the woods at 5 AM. Saw first deer within 20 yds at 6:50 but could never see it's head but a good broadside shot. Had to let it go never knowing what it was. Saw deer all day. At 5 PM had a mature doe come in and decided to take my first 40 yrd shot. Big mistake, ain't seen deer or arrow yet. Looked till 8 oclock and never found her or any blood. Just hope it was a clean miss. Down in my back all weekend but weather looks good till Thurs. Gonna hunt this week till the rain moves back in. I hunted under a whiteoak and thought I was gonna get beat to death. Trees are loaded better than I've ever seen.

Finally got to go!  One big doe down at 25 yards with Rage 2-Blade.  Like Chuck Adams said, "It's like throwing an ax through an animal!"

I got one at 4:00 this afternoon. Yearling doe. 30 yard shot and went down within 20 yards. Could see the fletching so I left her till five thinking a buck might come in. Went to get her she was done stiffened up. First deer I've killed over 20 yards with a crossbow. She's in the cooler so the monkeys off my back, can now hunt for the sake of hunting. I've been using mechanicals all year and missed two. Fixed one arrow before I left with a cheap WalMart fixed broadhead. That's the one that got her.
CONGRATULATIONS razor edge!

I guess I will have to wait for gun season to open. My CB permit is still being processed. I stinks being out of the game this year.

oxfeed, if your paperwork was in order and you sent a money order you should still be able to hunt. I make it a habit to mail a money order so the receipt will do in case they're late getting the permit. They're getting better but it use to take forever. If you sent a check you should get the permit as soon as the check clears. Call them every day, that'll speed them up.

Oxfeed - Give Rhonda Ellis in License Sales a call at 601-432-2400.  She handles all the crossbow applications.  Tell her John C.  told you to call (I worked there for 10 years)!  She is a great contact and will help you out.

Well, I finally got my first shot at a deer saturday morning. I got a big doe at 28 yards, total pass through, she only traveled 30 yards after the shot with an easy tracking job. I doubt I will hunt with anything else this year. Thanks for all of the information you have given me here.
