The ground blind will work perfectly for you, but just in case- do you have a wheelchair? If not, they rent them at medical supply stores. It will make sitting with your leg up much easier. Or, go to the Salvation Army and they sell used ones cheap. When you're done with it, sell it back to them or someone else. It'll be like sitting in a recliner in a blind. Take pillows for your back. Last time I rented one, it cost $35.00 a week, and can be written off on your insurance or taxes later if you keep the receipts.
When you set up that pop up, just don't secure/stake the door side and lift if over you to get inside. A shooting stick will make it even better. Good hunting!

GG, all good advice. Already have had a wheelchair donated to me. Have used shooting sticks for years depending on situation. Glad you mentioned not staking down the door side, made me think. Just a couple of stakes on the side opposite the door to act as a hinge and help hold it down if its windy. Great minds think alike.

I sure hope you can get out there for rifle season. That would be great.
A friend of mine is in wheel chair for life. Many years ago his brother took him to top of mountain and dropped him off to hunt, went back to camp, got drunk with the other hunters and forgot about him! My buddy almost froze to death before the guys remembered and went and got him. Don't let you friend forget about YOU!

Sport , don't push the healing process. Let it heal up right. You in my prayers for that.
Now for a tricky ambush, get a goose field blind kind you lay in with a proped up head rest. Bush the sides out real good. Know the direction the deer will enter the field or area. Preferably field. I've been thinking of doing this on the farm in Va. The trees around the field and set so far back from the edge thickets that it make for a long shot. Plus Turkeys come out all the time and they can not smell ya . But with deer you have to choose wisely.
