near dark, my son shot a nice symmetrical 10-Pt in the city limits, appx 1 mile from our home. He was just about to get down out of his stand when he heard/saw the deer come out of the woods/creek bottom 10-15 yds from his stand. He shot at the very last possible shooting time. He said he couldn't have shot it without the WCE 2.5X10 or an equavalent scope(not many exist). He used the lighted reticle feature. He was using a Parker Saf Mag #175 shooting Red Hot arrows tipped with 125g Thunderheads. Passthru shot, hit mid-chest from 10-15 yds, stand is appx 35' hi(higher than I'll hunt out of:)). Deer fell three times and crashed only about 40 yds from where it was hit. It was dead within 20 secs. This is actually one of his smaller deer kills but a very nice one anyway. He killed 3 deer when he was 9 years old: 1st with a PSE Flashfire, 2nd with a Browning Micro Midas, and the 3rd with a SKS. He is now 23 and hasn't let up one bit. He thinks this is deer # 41.

I've included pictures of the Saf Mag/Weaver Classic Extreme scope and the black bear he killed during the first 15 minutes of bear season(Oct 1,2009) with my Hoyt Razortec /100g 3-blade Rage. The bear went 60 yds and was down within 15 secs. The Golden is Chester, our 13 year old nearly constant companion of my son. He always goes along on a first date with a new girl: if she doesn't complain, there can be follow-on dates.

Nice buck!  He is doing good with 41 deer at 23.  I am 45 and up to 32.  You must have some great hunting spots.

I'm doing okay although this body I am in isn't doing so hot. But the Lord is giving me a new one, so why worry about it?

He shouldn't be a member. He is training to be a crop duster and still has about 200 hrs to fly by march: that's a lot of flying in a very short time. His flight instructor says absolutely no more additions to his over-stretched time. Incidentally, I'm his flight instructor. Also taught him to hunt but the flying thing isn't as easy to teach him:o.

I like his hunting and dating tactics.  My chocolate lab always had to approve of the gals I dated too.  When I found a gal that passed the dog test and helped me drag a deer I knew she was a keeper!  :D

I've gotten lazier, or busier, the past few years. I have 100 acres I live on here in the city limits and a farm leased for hunting 11 miles away. I have "several" stands set up on both(acurally 39:))and just hunt them. No more patterning, hunting for a specific deer, etc. I do try to be selective on which stand when, etc but not like years ago in going after specific deer. My son does this, and I'm proud of him for his tenacity in seeking out the largest bucks around(Appears Moon still does this).
