Small doe for land owner. Was a beautiful morning to be out stars were bright, frost on the ground. Was in place by 6:30 by 8:30 had seen nothing but birds and squirrels. So I decided to play with my call, did a fawn bawl, waited ten minutes nothing. So tried two short grunts a doe bleat and two short grunts. To my surprise a small doe came out of the corn field and made her way across the grassy flat toward me. I watched come about sixty yards, and stop about eighteen yards out broadside. So I shot she jumped and ran into some thick stuff and went down, went about forty feet. Had to drag her about ten feet, double lung and liver shot. Will go back out tonight and see if the lucky hat holds up.http://www.crossbown...=1&d=1256753123

Well, I hope my new CN hat is as lucky as yours is! I'll find out this weekend!
If it's not, I have another one to try. LOL! Really, it's been a LONG time since I had a lucky hat. Had to retire my old one. It kept pulling my hair at the button on top. It sure was lucky though for many years.

Congratulations Maad.  Don't forget to post your points at hunting brotherhood's website.  At least you and Cyclonic are posting points.  We've got a ways to go to catch up to and pass GG's team.

LOL! Sporty, it's not about passing up our team, it's about passing up the other forums teams! We are all the team for this forum, split into two groups. Good Luck to ya'll too! I hope you can get healed up soon and get back to the fun and games. Did you enter your doe you had shot before your accident?
Maybe you can set up a ground blind to continue your hunting season with when you get to feeling better.

Maad, the pix must have a valid file extension ie...   .jpg, .gif ect.
Check and make sure. I often forget to re-attach the extension when I rename a pic.

Did your hunting buddy not recover your doe you shot the day of your fall ?

That would have added another 50 ..

The hat is the golden horse shoe ! This evening at just before 0 dark 30 and doe and her fawn grased my areas and I layed out the doe on the spot with a high shot to the spine. Pic will follow tomorrow thanks Maad for the reminder. I was woundering what was amiss with not getting my 3rd doe.

BlackBoarDown and GG.  The camera was in the truck so I hadn't taken a picture yet.  By the time they got EMS out and me loaded (all the while I was telling my buddy to go take care of the deer) and me to the ER and then went back to get the doe - well let's just say the buzzards feed themselves real good.  So no points.

DaveHawk...It's that Indiana Jones look that does it for you. I must have tried on a dozen baseball-style caps before heading to the woods this afternoon. Got to get the one that feels just right. Only saw one doe, however, so I'll be rotating to another cap tomorrow.
