I have not seen any deer the last couple times out but have seen a few turkeys. Hens one day, then 3 nice toms this past Thursday. I have never Turkey hunted before so I got online and checked out seasons, regs, etc..
It seems we have a fall season here in Mich., you have to apply in Aug, then they sell leftover tags to applicants who didn't get tags then on a first come first serve basis. I went and checked today and there were leftover tags for Private Land in my area, so I got one. You can take either Toms or Hens. Probably won't see any now that I have a tag, but if I do, look out Tom Turkey, my trigger finger is getting itchy.
Turkey time!

That's a good plan.......I always keep a turkey tag handy when deer hunting here in Iowa. I went out yesterday and only saw two small bucks. As I was drifting off in my stand I heard something behind me. Peeked around my tree and saw a line of turkeys walking right at me. I think they saw me and they started walking off to my left. I tried to slowly twist around for a shot but they saw me and started walking faster. I got in position and dialed up my scope x7. One of the hens stopped and popped her head up to get one last look at me. She will be tasty on Thanksgiving! Stepped her off at 33 yards. A poor day of deer hunting salvaged by a turkey.
