Nice pics.
Here in the county I hunt in Tx, the buck in the last pic would "maybe" be a legal buck.Hard to tell from the angle.
I don't have my game book with me but my county is one of the more than half of the 260+ counties in Tx that are now under an antler restriction law this year. 13"
minimum "inside" spread.
According to the Tx regulation book, to determine if a buck meets this criteria you should observe him looking at you with his ears outstreched and the "inside" width of the horns must extend beyond the outer edges of his ears.
I haven't been lucky enough yet to have a nice buck turn and look at me so I can see his ears and horns!
Actually, this is a good reg in my opinion especially here in East Tx. Though there are still some nice bucks taken here every year, a LOT of bucks never see their 2nd or 3rd b'day because of the hunting pressure.
I'm all for this new regulation. Over the years I have let many younger bucks walk even though I know that as soon as he is off my property, he is probably meat in one of my neighbor's freezer.
What can you do except what you feel is right whether the next hunter feels the same or not....
Excalibur Phoenix
Slick Trick 125 mags
Polaris Ranger 4x4 to haul the meat
Those voices in my head don't scare me, they know me well, and we are one.......
