These Crossbows sure are slow. One is only shooting 305 FPS and has 86.8 ft pounds of kinetic Energy. The other is shooting 285 FPS and has 75.8 ft pounds of kinetic enerdy.
I know these bows will be of good quality but the speed and power are not very impressive.

SilentHunter,
You only need about 35-40 ft lbs to go through a deer. If the bow is well made and shoots exactly where you want it, does it really need to go 400fps?

My Ten Point Titan HLX "only shoots 305fps" and is 2 for 2 on pass throughs. When you squeeze that trigger and see it hit dead on at 40yds over and over again you will think "impressive."

300 to 320 fps is considered the "sweet spot" for deer hunting. Reliability, minimal crossbow maintenance and minimal arrow damage are important to many crossbow hunters. Good move on TP's part I think. I would like to see Bowtech offer a $599.00 crossbow that is sized right, light weight and in the 310 to 320 fps range. Now that would also be a hot seller.

Look speed is not the answer
, I shot a couple hundred deer with crossbows that only shot 286 fps with heavy arrows. Getting close and seeing the white's of there is what the game is all about. I impressive crossbow is one that will last the test of time.
1st year Slick Tricks came out I had 13 pass throws and already had 20 other deer down with my Foxfire when I made the switch.

It doesn't "need to" for many people ... but would you "prefer" it is my question. If I wanted a 320fps, 35-40 yard bow, I'd still be shooting my vertical.
With that said this bow sounds like it could be a winner; from a much heralded company.

I've had pass thru's, way back when, from my Bear Kodiak 48# at 22 Yards with Cedar Shafts and Bear Razors Heads. Speed isn't that important. Of all the verticle bows I've had I don't think any of them shot more than 250 FPS. Including my last Mathews.
I think they will do fine with those Bows. There is a Big market for the lower poundage from Woman, Youth, and those because of health Reasons need the lower poundage.

Absolutely. Not only that, but it would make a fine beginner bow, or a great second bow that is in an economical price range. Might be the difference in getting a bow now or saving more for later.
Speaking of speed, 305 isn't bad. Beats my old Mathews vertical that shot 285 or so, and I always had good pass thru's. Not that I don't like speed!

I'm doing okay although this body I am in isn't doing so hot. But the Lord is giving me a new one, so why worry about it?

My Titan TL-9 shoots about 270fps. with a 18" arrow that weights 450gr. I shot a 6 point buck at 30 yards and I had a pass threw. The buck never jumped my string. My crossbow is quiet. If you want more speed then get what you want but I don't want more speed.
