Hello Everyone! New to Crossbow Nation. My ? is has anyone ever had the rage two blade prematurley expandulate when shooting out of their crossbow? I hate when that happens. Actually just decided to get back into hunting after 17 years. Just got a powerful urge to back back into it. Yoo Hoo! I am shooting a barnett wildcat if that makes a difference. I also have a Parker Tornando but thats a whole other story. Thanks in  advance    Back to work now so I'll check back when I get home. Thanks again

I don't know about premature expandulation ... but ... I've heard two guys I've met have issues with them killing deer on hard quartering shots.   My guesstimate would be one blade hit the hide and pitchpoled the broadhead/arrow.  That's just my guess.  I've heard enough bad about Grimm Reapers and Rage broadheads to steer clear of them.  (even if I was a mechanical advocate)

I must be the only one that cannot get slick tricks to fly for crap. Sure  wish I could. That is out of a DS. Rage are fine 3 blade tho. Undertaker fly excellent.

22" shafts (Lazer II) from Bowtec but with Blazer or Fusion vanes, brass inserts and the Razor Trick 100, at 50 yards there is but 1" difference in POI with a 100 grain FP.

I shoot a Horton Exp. HD 150. I believe the speed of it is close to your wildcat. I have been shooting the, RAGE 2 blade for two years now with no complaints. I love them. Be sure your blades are snug. I've killed 3 deer with them. One shoulder shot broke through bone and still made a pass-through. Angled shot was no problem either. And I killed all three deer with the same head. Changed blades only one time. Shoulder shot.

That's why I believe people should not rely totally on what any other person says is the best. As an example, I've had numerous pins fall out of Rages that I tested but, no doubt, they will do the job on a deer or most any other game animal (assuming the pins are still in:)) so if you listen to what I say, you would not buy Rages for crossbow use, at the same time Hunter has good things to say about them. Do your own homework and YOU decide:) They all will kill a deer. Dead is dead.........there are no degrees of dead.

There is one expandable head that I would be hunting with now but they discontinued it when they purchased Rocky Mountain. Rear opening blades with NO rubber bands or "O" rings (glorified rubber band). A fool proof expandable head if ever there was one.  Just goes to show you......

Hey Moon, check this link out. It looks like you can still get them.http://rockymtbroadh...head_gator.html
I have seen what these can do out of a vert. bow wasn't sure how it would do from a crossbow. Have you tried?

i have rage heads both 2 & 3 blades and i have heard people talk about the pins falling out. i have both the older roll pins and the newer pins. any head i buy i take them apart to sharpen the blades. those roll pins on the older ones are in pretty tight, i don't know how they could come out. but the new pins, no way, i thought i was going to break the head before i got them out.
i always test my heads by shooting one through a very dense 4 ply 1/2'' plywood. first shot straight on, then i check the sharpness of the blades after going through the wood. the second shot [same head] i shoot at a 45* angle to check for penatration and deflection.
that front blade never bent over on either test. the main blades held up on the first shot [2 blade], bent on the second shot a bit. they passed.
the sharpest blade i ever had that went through wood was a rocky mountain assasin, you could shave with it.
