New Bow Today!!!

Congrats on the new bow, hope you like yours as much as I like my Parker. Here are some random thought I learned by experience that may be of interest to you:
May want to hold up on the crank until you try cocking it in the stand. I bought one but have not needed to use it. Do get the Red Hot hot rope cocker if you didn't get it with the bow. The rollers make cocking much easier and prevent marring the finish. Do try some Dalton's wax for strings and cables, and some Jig A Loo to lube the deck (Just wipe it on with a piece of cloth), it goes on wet but dries quickly to a slick film. May want to rethink the Block too, arrow removal isn't easy; may want to hold out for the Spider Web target; spendy but very good. I went with the aftermarket post forearm and cheekpiece on mine, both good enhancements. The post makes bow much easier to carry/shoot and saves weight, while the cheekpiece enhances scope/eye alignment. I too went with a Hawke (MAP), it fits the bow to a T. For what it's worth, I'm using the Gold Tip Lazer ll' shafts, 110 g brass insert, 2" Blazers and aluminum moon nocks; my head of choice is the 125 g Slick Trick magnum.This combination gives me an arrow weighing 440 g, that flies well from this bow, with outstanding terminal performance.
Word to the wise: This is a high performance bow (mine gets a chroned 365 fps), be sure the arrow is up against the string and the nock is aligned with the string when you pull the trigger. Also check to make sure the arrow, and esp the plastic moon nock, has no cracks, EVERY time you shoot. A cracked nock caused my first Cyclone to blow up.
If ypu don't have access to a shop that know how to serve crossbow strings, learn to serve the string and cables. (Not the same as serving vert bows) The serving on the factory string will need replacing in a couple of hundred shots. (I'm using Halo and Angel Majesty serving material with good results). If you have a press, see if it's strong enough and fits this bow; if not, see if the local bow shop's does. This bow is quite narrow and the limbs are stiff, it takes a press that is both strong and adjusts down to that size. The one at the local shop couldn't handle mine, I finally built my own.
Get a replacement string and set of cables (I make my own so can't help you with aftermarket choice other than Parker's). I change mine out when I reserve to keep the string and cables fresh. To avoid possible failure the string is no longer used after two reserves.
I compare mine to a trophy wife: Looks HOT, performs great, but is high strung and takes a little stroking to be at it's best.
