Archery New Zealand has advised that due to circumstances beyond its control, the World Target Crossbow Championships which were scheduled to be held in Hamilton, New Zealand in January 2011 have been cancelled.
WCSA sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused.
Please convey this advice to all your shooters.
Efforts are being made to re-schedule these championships in another country. Any member federation who may be able to assist is asked to contact the Secretary General as a matter of urgency.

None of the TNC members have expressed a possible reason as far as I can tell. There is some talk of a reunification with the IAU (the older xbow target organization-WCSA was formed because-among other reasons-the IAU didn't seem to be interested in promoting "Sport" (hunting style) crossbow archery)
Money could be another reason though having been part of the team that has run
two JOAD nationals, One US Nationals and One Olympic trials, all of which had far more participants (02 JOAD had 300 or so archers) and the two JOAD tournaments were basically bankrolled by our JOAD club I couldn't see this being a main reason
