I think that many are members. They have chosen the option in their User CP of being "invisible".

I'm doing okay although this body I am in isn't doing so hot. But the Lord is giving me a new one, so why worry about it?

The friendliest crossbow site on the web no matter what brand you choose to shoot.

I would bet that a lot of the guest are registered users just reading and getting the info they need. There is no point in going through the motions of logging in when you do not have anything to say. I am the same way. I have learned a lot from all the people here and I am greatful. But, there is no need to log on just to read a tid-bit here and there.

With out logging in, there is no way to see what you have read already or if there are new posts.  The new posts feature only works when logged in.  Also, you cannot view any pictures if you are not logged in.

UL

There is more info in the words than there is in pictures. If the picture is worth looking at, I log in. I remember what I have read. Maybe in a few more years I will start to lose my memory. Hope not though. Also, you do not have to be logged in to see new posts.

Bottom line is that Crossbow Nation is the best sight for crossbows and I hope you continue the great job you do here.

But you can't click on the new posts link if you aren't logged in.  Hopefully you know what I am talking about.  I fear that the majority of the users don't use the forum software to its potential.  I guess it really doesn't matter because we will soon have all new software that will be totally different.:D

That's o.k. UL, you are doing real good.

UL

I know what you are talking about. I do not feel that all the users need to use this sight at it's full potential. Most people are just regular guys and gals doing personal research for their own betterment in the quest to be a better shot and a better hunter. I sure read it extensively for just that purpose.

I hope your new software will not prevent people from reading unless they are logged in. Others have tried that and are stagnent or closed. It would be very hard to increase membership as well.

I say again it is a great sight and hope everyone can enjoy it's endless information wether they are a member or not.

The new site will operate just like this one.  Anyone can read but you must be a logged in member to post.  The new software will take some getting used to for me and all the members, but for the future growth of the site, it is something that has to be done.  The basic reading posts and replying to posts will be the same.  I can't wait to get feedback from all of you.  It won't be long.:D

Hey UL, I am looking forward to seeing the new site especially since the reading and replying will be the same.  Will we still be able to see the old posts from this software/site after the change?

Yes all posts, threads, and topics will transfer over.  Your passwords and user names will remain the same.  I think even your private messages and profile messages will transfer.  The only thing that may not transfer is if you have a photo album on your profile page.

HI Laura. I cant be the only one thinkin' with each new picture of yourself you put up, you just keep getting prettier and prettier!!

I reg. log in on the excal site but have chosen stealth mode so nobody knows Im on line, and here on CB which I visit just as regularly maybe even more so, I just lurk unless there are pics I wanna see.

I dont have to log in to see new posts. I do log in just to check and see if I have pms or mail.

My weekly average visits to CB nation is three or four times per week, but since there are not many new posts to read on the subjects (manufacturers) I like, I dont bother.

If there was weekly giveaways for members logging in at least twice per week or a discount from the CB store maybe I and a few others would change our invisable ways.

Why are there no manufacturer giveaways? arrows, broadheads, crossbows, backstops, etc. I would think CB nation is about the premier crossbow site. Its not UL fault, its the tightwad manufacturers.

Each featured manufacturer would not be hurt by offering monthly giveaways. For the possibility of winning an Excal or Scorpyd I'd gladly log on each time I visit.  CB nation sells a lot of crossbows for these guys, yet does not receive a lot from the companies.

L.
