Enough acronyms in there for you? I was wondering about the legality of the HHA Optimizer for use in the various competitions. What brings this up is that Paul V. was using one of the Parker/Hawke prototypes that allows yardage adjustments. Would the HHA device fall into that same category?

Anyone know if they are allowed with ASA or IBO?

Not sure about IBO, but I think ASA made 2 classes to accommodate.  I think.:D

Javan Parsons won the 300 fps class with an adjustable scope, custom stock, and a bubble (level) on the riser of the Excal.

My opinion is that the rules should only allow those types of modifications in the 330, or Modified / Pro class no matter the speed.  The 300 / Crossbow Hunter class should only allow standard scopes, red dots, and / or pins in that class.

The A.S.A. has been more than willing to listen, and take all suggestions.

Note:
The A.S.A., in compound classes I shot in the past, made a person move up to the next class if they won, or won a certain amount of money.  This kept the playing field moving, and fresh.  No new person would need to worry about shooting against a recurring champion, or more superior equipment.

It was alot of fun to shoot!
Thanks,

Brad,
IBO does not care.
A.S.A. dose not care at this point.  It may change to accomodate more crossbow owners if they see a need.

Agree. It is the 330 class I am referring to, but wouldn't mind giving the other class a go. Early rules I saw said no adjustible scopes and I had my TRUGLO scope taped.

Hoss hit the nail on the head. Dial in's and HHA's should be only in the 330(modified/open)class. The 300 class should be standard hunting type equipment. I think that would be a more welcoming enviroment for new shooters with less experience. Thats my two cents for what its worth, but regardless I will be there to play. It has been to much fun at the last two events.
