Good Luck, Ridgehunter, I'm glad your getting to go out again. That was a great story on your doe. You done a great job tracking that one. Be careful going in where there is fresh Bear sign. Don't want to hear of a bear getting killed up there by some ol' man with a cane. Ya'll have a great Thanksgiving.

Take care, and congratulations!
I'm doing okay although this body I am in isn't doing so hot. But the Lord is giving me a new one, so why worry about it?

Crossbow season continues for all of Dec. but that is a big question as of now. Our camp is all set for the winter so that means that one of the guys would have to take me over for a day. So far only light snow has arrived and that helps. Once it gets deep, my season is over. I would like to get another hunt in because I get even crazier than I normally am being inside all winter.
This time of year that bear is probably looking for a warm hole to call home for the winter. I would just as soon let him sleep him in peace. His tracks were in the sand last spring in front of my blind. Most likely he was moving out onto the plains to feed and enjoy the summer. We have a mutual agreement. He leaves me alone, I leave him alone:lol: .

Just thought I'd say howdy while I'm up to it and throw in an update. Saw my surgeon yesterday. Everything concerning my heart is looking great. He said I could start doing things as I felt like it. I am hoping to be able to go sit in my tower blind some starting in a week or so. I have to say that I feel great as far as my heart/chest goes. I've gotten rid of all the extra fluid in my body and have lost over 50 pounds. If I can get where I can do some exercise I should shed quite a few more pounds. I have quit chewing tobacco not having any since before the operation.
My only real set back has to do with some stomach problems I am having which can become very painful and saps my strength, and it is during those times that I end up resting a day or so and can't get online or do much of anything. Boy, it sure is bad. I sure hate it had to show itself at this time, and if it wasn't for that, I'd probably done been out hunting and helping the Gang to victory. Well, it isn't over yet.
Well, glad to be able to get on here today. If I disappear for a day or so at a time you know why now. But everything is looking up. THe Lord is taking great care of me.
Catch you all later.

Thanks for the good words, guys. Now that you have seen the picture, you know what ugly is. That doe is now a lot of real good venison. That will sure help the wife and I get through the winter.

It is a storming here with the snow piling up and the wind blowing trees down around the house. So far none of them has knocked our power out or landed on the vehicles. But it does look as though my whitetail hunting is over until next year.
Ranger, now get better or I will have to get you Fed Exed up here so I can set your tail in the snow and use that freeze therapy on you.

Ranger - Praying for you and your healing. Your job is to get well - nothing else.
BuckNBill - Congratulations on the new crossbow and it's first bloodletting. Your da MAN!! And of course I'm praying for you also.
KY Longbeard - Man am I glad you finally got that Gobbler! Way to go. Now of course I'm praying you get over what ever is making you sick. Being sick is no fun. So get well and go get another gobbler.

It's been up and down, but I'm starting to get a few more steps forward than backwards now. Finally got my stomach to begin healing up. Whoo, that was quite tortuous for a while there.
Ridge, I hope I don't need that freeze therapy, but if you want to send for me don't use Fed Ex. They never can find my house. Better to use UPS.
So Ky. Longbeard finally got a gobbler? Now if I already have been told that before and just forgot, you'll just have to overlook me. My dain bramage is almost better, but not quite. But if not: CONGRATULATIONS!
I knew Bucknbill would get that new bow broke in soon. Only thing about Buckinbill is he has no shame. The way he got that bow was he sent a letter to the "Make A Child's Christmas Foundation" addressed to Santa Claus, and pretended he was a 10 year old boy living in a shack in a tree up in the Mississippi swamps with his grandma who has no teeth and his cuzzin Jumpnjack who got swamp fever when he was a boy and aint right in the head no more. Told Santa all he wanted was to be able to furnish food for his family and said a Ten Point crossbow would be the best thing for him to use. Said Jumpnjack could cock it for him and he could shoot alligators for grandma to cook. Plus he was hopeful to get enough gator hides to buy granny some teeth. Darn if he didn't have that bow within a week. If he was a real friend he would send Santa a letter for each one of his gang buddies and get us some cool stuff too!
