vixenmaster, You sure have posted pics of nice deer!! My boy and I went scouting Sunday for a few hours and seen  some does and a nice buck. The buck is still in velvet. No wonder I could not find any buck rubs!!

It won't be long now Al.

I was out looking for rubs this last weekend and didn't find any either. Walked up on a doe and fawn, then backed away and didn't scare them off.
I saw losts of encouraging signs....beds and such.....

It's a good drop this year for sure. Posted Image
What I noticed was how BIG they are. I live in White Oak township, and we have a lot of White Oaks, but never have I seen them produce acorns that were thumb sized! Really, it's been a great year for growing anything. Beans are turning, corn is finishing out early, third cut hay will come off soon, so it's going to radiclly different than last year.

I here you. My boy picked up the biggest one he found and it is 3/4" in diameter. There's plenty of food for the deer so I am going to find some buck rubs with a good runway close and hunt that for the early season.

That's a really old picture Vixenmaster if I'm reading it right 2003-01-02.  Those deer ought to be in the freezer by now - unless your wife wouldn't let you take them?

Vixenmaster & Lscha. Nice pics you have there. Lets get some meat in the freezer soon. Just a couple more weeks!! I did round 2 of scouting today for about 3 hours. It looks like I got my spot all picked out for the opener, But I will do some more scouting this week when small game opens up. I got the itch and cant hardly stand it!! Come on the 1st.

I saw 3 growed nanny's from my climber this morning. They were between 30 & 40 yds from me back on my left side. They never let me feel i could get vixen switched to my right shoulder fer a shot. Every time i tried to ease around they would stop munching acorns & throw their heads up & watch. They were on the hillside only 4 or 5 ft. lower than i was. I moved my climber 50 yds up & 50 more yds father back than where they come along the trail. So if'en they come that way in the moring i should get a 20-30 yds shot.

Were cooking down apples fer sauce, i took a 3 gal dishpan full of cores n peelings to the feeder. I bumped into a heck of a nice Buck coming to the feeder on another trail. It was great to see such a grand animal in shock of me catching him wanting to eat at the feeder

Hi guys. I went and set up my ground blind and my tree stand blind this weekend. I have buck rubs close to my blinds. I have seen more buck rubs this weekend than I have in a long time. My ground blind is set up in a swamp and I am not sure what the attractant is but the deer are just tearing this area up.

Well i knowed it would happen but was hoping not this soon! The Mrs & i went up to the P Office & on the way there coming off our place. Was a deer crossing guard with a placard saying they were all leaving as i was caught hunting them. All 492 were vacating our place all walking across the gravel road. Ungrateful tick toters feed them all year & they pull this on me !   Heading fer my climber now catch y'all later
