Add another doe to the pile.  Shot 11-10-10 in Granville County, N.C. @ 5:10 PM.  It was a 27 yard shot & she fell in less distance than that. I was using my crossbow even though it is muzzleloader season in this part of the State.
Not a big doe ,but it will eat good!

Picture in the hunting contest pictures thread.

I have to wait till the first week of December for my hunt and that's anout all I'll be able to do hunting wise. I hope that next year is gonna be better.

I won't get a chance to get back in the woods until 11-30-10 or so, but I still have tags to fill and a few places up my sleeve that get ZERO hunting pressure.  I have met my 2 doe minimum at the lease this year, & one of the guys who hunts out there will be working out of state, then going on a sheep hunt with his father to Mexico.  It looks like I'll have to take up some of his slack.  Tough job, but somebody's got to do it.  Good luck you all.

I think that I'm going to grab a permit to extend the season till Jan 31st. Would love to get out a few more times and try my luck. Hopefully we don't have the kind of snow like had last year to mess things up.

Well fellas, 6 day firarm wasn't kind to me at all. After all those days of hard hunting, I never even saw a tail or any movement in the woods no matter where I went. I have the month of January on special permit season to try to get one for the team, but things aint looking so good. Gonna try like heck anyway. Hope you all are doing better than me, good luck!

Well the season is over and I still have 2 tags. All the snow we have made hunting real hard. With over a foot of snow the deer were not moving and the crust on the snow made still hunting a noisy endeavor.

Since the contest for the most part appears to be over with, I'd like to take the chance to say it was an honor to be with you guys on the team. While I didn't contribute anything to the score, it was still fun reading the threads and seeing the pictures posted. If things look better this year, I may be able to get out hunting more often and hopefully start killing some game. A buddy has secured permission for 500 acres of private ground and if things pan out we should be able to do some hunting with very little pressure as opposed to hunting on public ground. If the contest starts again this fall and you fellas would like to stay on the same team together, I would be honored to "hunt" with you guys again. Take care and stay safe! Greg
