Hello i am a brand new member and i found this site doing some research on buying my first crossbow.  Right now I think it is between the TenPoint Titan and the Excalibur Equinox.  I stopped at a local gun shop yesterday and i shot the TenPoint and i plan on going to Cabellas this weekend to check out the Excalibur.

Any advice would be extremely beneficial!

Thanks,

-Dan

Welcome to Crossbow Nation from the swamplands of Louisiana.  As you can see from my signature I am partial to the Ten Point.  You are going in the right direction when you are actually having a hands on with your bows of choice. I'm sure you will find one that will fit you and it yells, TAKE ME HOME.  Good luck in your shopping.  Dee

Thanks! From the research i have done so far it seams that i will be very happy with either Xbow.  I am getting really excited because normally I would not get to deer hunt until after Thanksgiving during rifle season but if I can make up my mind soon, I archery hunt for does starting on the 18th of September and Antlered archery season starts just a few weeks later!!! :)

Welcome to the Nation.  There's lots of good folks here and a few nuts.  Come on in, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and join the discussion.  I don't think you could go wrong with either of those two crossbows.  Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Not that you ever had to but if you were forced to get rid of one or the other which one would you keep?? Or maybe a better question is if you were going hunting and you could only take one on the plane with you which one would you take and why????

Dan:

Welcome to our family.  I live in Lancaster County within the Keystone State.

My crossbow is an older HuntMaster built by Ten Point and I love it!

Well my first day hunting with a crossbow was a huge sucess!!  I took a doe on the first day of early season archery in my area.  It was about a 20 yard shot and the deer fell about 30 yards after being hit.  Now that I have confidence in my crossbow I cannot wait for regualr season archery to attempt it on a nice big buck!
