I'm just getting started in crossbows and joined hoping to gain some knowledge. I'm currently in the market for one so any pointers are appreciated!

Welcome Toofast!  You've come to the right place! Anything you need to know you can learn here. I am new to crossbows this year, bought my first one about six weeks ago. All I can say is I can't wait for Friday.
I got my first kill today, while I was shooting a few practice arrows a squirrel stepped in front of my target. I head shot him at 20 yards. This afternoon I shot a little with my brother, we were shooting out to 52 yards off of a shooting stick and breaking 3" balloons. It sure feels good to have that kind of confidence!

Welcome Toofast!  It is a great time to be shopping for a crossbow because there are many new models and improvements.  Good luck with your selection!

Welcome to the Nation.  There's lots of good folks here, and a few nuts of course.  Come on in, grab a cup of coffee and a chair and join in the discussions.  Best advice I can give you is to go somewhere with a good selection of crossbows where you can handle and shoot them and find the one that "FITS" you - you'll know it.

Congratulations on being # 3000.
