Howdy y'all, GREAT site here!
I'm a 57 year old Christian male in East Texas (Wake Village, outside of Texarkana), just bought my first crossbow. I quit bow hunting about 20 years ago because of neck and finger nerve problems. Now that crossbows are legal here, I decided to try one out at Bass Pro. It was love at first flight!
The first one I shot was the Wicked Ridge Invader. I tried some others after that, but when I started doing some research, I decided to get the Invader after all. (Maybe it was because out of my first 6 shots with this model, none were more than 3 inches from the bullseye).
I'm looking forward to starting the deer season Saturday a.m. This new weapon has given me a whole new level of enthusiasm for deer hunting, I can't wait to get started. I'm also planning to track down a hog or two at some point.
If anyone in the area is looking for someone to hunt with, send me a message. I don't have a lease, I'm hunting the 50,000+ acres at Wright Patman Lake. I have a boat, so I'll probably hunt more on the islands and harder-to-access mainland areas, there's not any overcrowding problem that way. I'm retired, so will be hunting on some weekdays for sure.

I hear good things about that crossbow. I am sure you will get lots of good use out of it. Welcome to CN.

I'm doing okay although this body I am in isn't doing so hot. But the Lord is giving me a new one, so why worry about it?
