Hi, I will put my two cents in. I shot vertical bow for a long time and I shot the heaviest aluminum and the lightest carbons. What I finally came up with the best combo for me was that I shot an arrow that was slightly heavier than the lightest recommended for my bow. My bow said no lighter than 350 grains with tip and I shot a gold tip that weighed 369 grains total weight. This made my bow shoot fairly fast at 293fps and still had plenty of KE around 60 so I say somewhere in the middle between heavy and light is best! JMO

Nice Buck Congrats!! you should shoot your bh's at a target instead of fieldpoints though, because they won't all shoot like fieldpoints.

Saw this heavy eight point Buck working a scrape two days ago so I made
the scrape a little interesting by adding a little doe scent.
Evidently it worked as he was checking the scrape for the second time
today when I made the 33 yard shot with the Tenpoint Turbo.
Just hours before had set up a make shift blind out of dead limbs, was
surprised he came in so quick as I had just got settled in the blind no
more than 10 minutes.
At the shot using the slicktrick magnums 125 g, the buck kicked and
dropped to the ground, got up slowly and walked about 50 feet and fell
over. The shot caught the top of the heart and was a pass through, never
found the arrow.
Eight point Buck, 194 lbs.
