Fps & Disppointment

I am seeing this in threads & its bothering the owners of said slower Bow even tho other Bows of same model shoot faster. I have been at this archery shooting stuff since 1958 & the fps thing is a constant so called problem wid ppl. I reckon its just how were made up mentally. Unless you own a great chrony & knowed how to set it up yer going to be disappointed! Why you ask because lots of variables are there from jump street. Do you knowed yer new chrony or old chrony is calibrated ? We knowed its supposed to be but is it ? The sunlight or shadows from clouds when you shot can cause diff readings. Diff strings-arrows-deck lube- arrow weight. Friends thar be much to understand about all of this & its taken me my lifetime to gain what i knowed on this stuff. I am gonna tell you what my Pa told me when i was young, to be disappointed in anything thats works as its suppose to is foolish! Lets say we have 2 Bows of the same model & one shoots 20 fps faster than the other, well the Company just advertised that model can do that much fps if'en eveything is like their model they shot in a controlled enviorment. The look on yer face when you read the chrony & yer model fell short says it all, its crushing to you & the saying why me why is my so & so model slower thans Kenny's ? Does yer model shoot accurately? Can you hit yer targets accurately? Then why the Disappointment ? I knowed you payed fer a fast model & its abit slower than others of same, that falls under its a moot pt as it never stopped yer model from being a good shooting Bow
Bashing Brands
04 April 2012 - 05:33 PM
Yup i have did that but not bashed the owners! No matter which Brand or model you end up buying, sometimes something Breaks on it. Sometimes its the owners fault fer not reading instructions/directions. Other times its something else including quality control got lazy. We do research of reviews even get to shoot a few diff Brands & Models & still something can go wrong. There are some models i wouldn't touch then there be others by same Company i would. warrantys some are very good others barely squeak by. Diff companys have diff ways of working with model repair. Some work with individuals others strickly by Dealer. So with the Dealer only repairs pick a great Dealer to work with you. Some ppl. like home town shops nutten wrong wid that. I don't have one myself everything with me has to be shipped! I have to pick great Dealers. C S with some Companys is very good & some Companys seem to have alot of it. Ppl. say thats because they sell so many & imo its poor quality control Inspectors. I am going to say this i don't think its right fer any Company to use its customers as Testers of any Model!
Fps & Limbs
27 March 2012 - 05:31 PM
I have been reading some of this info fer past yr or so. Some Brand/s claim our recurve limbs are faster & better than the other more well known recurve makers limbs! So without dragging names into this subject i have a ? What is yer pt, really thar be several Brands & models that surpass those of that claim. Compound style with over 100 lbs less draw! There are 100 pound models that push 360-375 fps ! Thats all good ppl. to each person its their choice. I love being comfortable hunting, i love dependability, i love owning & shooting crossbows that cost me $400 & under!
