Thanks for the pictures and the beautifull elk that you got!! Being from Wyoming it reminds me of the hunting I did when in High School with my dad.

5 point is the biggest elk I've ever downed and that was with a rifle.

Hey, Sorry I haven't checked this for a while. Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy the hunt and writing about it helps me relive it. Ghost, I have a 150# Horton Stag (they don't make them anymore). It's very similar, I think, to an Excalibur Vixen. Probably not as well made, but similar speed.

OK you talked me into it I am going on a guided Colorado Elk leaving on Sept. 23 and Hunting Sept 24-28 comming home Sept. 29. Now I got to see about getting the time off work if not thank god for sick time. Great read, but I am not that brave my first time I'm using a rifle.

Good bull and you did a fantastic job telling the story. You truly have a once in a life time trophy. Believe you said he went 320...not bad. By the way that mulie didn't look all that bad either.

Have yet to take anything with a crossbow but hope to change that soon. Hunted deer for three days in Oklahoma with one last year but no shots.

Hope all the readers noticed you took the bull with a 150 lb crossbow. It's all about a heavy arrow, a sharp broadhead and shot placement.
