Either Ten point or Excal with Lazar 2's and tipped with 125 slicks. Both have scopes and I carry a cocking rope. Same set up I have used for the last 10 years.

This year I am hunting with a Strykeforce an Excal lumiscope over an HHA optimizer, red Hot arrows with 125 gr Spitfires.
Don't waste 40 years making the same mistakes I did when all you have to do is ask, Just an old man who cares.

I bought mine used at about 1/2 list price from a friend who shoots compound. I therefore do not have the lifetime warranty. But you are correct they cost too much.
If you are willing to consider a used traditional bow look around at Trad Gang http://tradgang.com/
under classifieds.

Last year the successful setup was Excalibur Ibex, VariZone scope, Boo string, GT II's w/100 gr SlickTricks (Crazyfarmer Arrows) TW 407 gr. NGSS and top quiver mount.

This year I'm hunting with the same arrows through an Excalibur Vixen II, Boo string, VariZone scope, NGSS and top quiver mount.
