The contest sign up seems to be losing momentum with members signing up, with the forum being up and down I am having 2nd thoughts on running this contest this year. I can not get my photos to load which will be needed to run the contest. So with this being a major problem I think it is best to hold off on having the contest this year and going for it next year.

Respectfully
DHawk

Murphy strikes again. Drat his hide! No problem at all, Dave. Maybe next year I will actually hit something.

Ranger I'm not saying I would like to see this contest cut out all together. It just seems that is is not much enthusiasm for it right now. If we had say 50 members sign up and the picture button was working It could be done. Plus the other contest we can still do at the end of the year.

That is normal. I don't think you will ever see much enthusiasm when posted in July. Many people are just not out hunting or thinking about hunting right now. Most hunting related forums have very slow activity this time of year.

What you mean people aren't thinking about huntin'? There's only two things I think about and Huntin's #2, I ain't dead yet so #1 is something more fun.
As far as the contest goes I don't know if I'll be functional for hunting yet - If I can hunt I might as well be in the contest. Just hadn't found out enough info from my doctor yet.

Whatever Dave decides works for me. Running one of these contests is far from an easy job.

Just a thought in regards to number of individuals signed up: You can always let everyone play individually instead of by teams. Or you could have teams of 2 or three instead of 5. But that is just an idea. Wouldn't want to twist someone's arm into doing something they don't want to fool with. Maybe he will get enthused and change his mind.

If he don't then I tell you what: I'll do it. But it depends on Dave first and everyone else second. And it would take a little bit of help from everyone involved. If the picture thingamajig isn't working on the site then I guess contestants could email their pictures to me, but since I'm on dial up, you'd have to make them small. Like around 100 kb or I cant see them. But if the pictures can be posted on here, as long as they are kept in the mandatory size range that would be fine. But that is jumping WAY FAR ahead. What does the Hawkster want to do? Oh, what will he do? :D

Also realize I could kick the bucket in the middle of this thing. Of course, I'll be dead so I won't care.

Well, I was hoping to provoke old Dave with some reverse psychology and prod him into action, but he I see he hasn't checked it out yet. He is probably fishing or something this weekend. Let's see what he says and then we will go from there. He might be killing time so he can sabotage my Taj Mahal Tower Stand and get a leg up on me before the contest. B) Maybe I better go check it out tomorrow.

Well this sucks. After getting burned on another site last year for voicing my opinion on x-bows in their contest, I get all excited about this one and it falls apart.... What a shame.

Xi Bowhunter don't worry your lil self bro it is going to happen. Ranger thinks he has one up on me :D but I'm really going to be making some one work his ole butt off while I go hunt. BTW the Taj Mahal Tower Stand has a pad lock at the bottom reserved for "D HAWK" keep out unless you have beer. :) Or I'll take an Ice Tea:D

WELL, WELL, WELL! You could always sign up to be a SPONSORED member of the Texas Crossbow Hunters Club and play in our hunting contest. It's an individual member event. We are holding a meeting around August 17th
or 19th, depending on which day everyone can get on to talk on the Texas Forum with CHAT so we can start a thread to discuss any changes to the system with input only by those who are playing so it's set before the start of the contest.
Just an idear.
