It's not that the 60 point deer will still be in the total at the end of the contest, after all Ky Longbeard can pick his final five for the total. It's the fact that he was the first one to post a score and it's even sweeter since he used a crossbow (for an extra ten points and we are a crossbow site).

sad news for the competition...that,s just one team member on his first hunt..slow down a little Ky.Longbeard i know you could get the job done by youself but the rest of the gang will join in with more points in a few weeks...boy he done real good for an old man that just goes around mumblin to hisself

And just think if we could get him to buy one of those LUCKY Ten Point shirts for sale in the Texas Auction. But NO! He's not gonna give up that cash to look good next hunt photo. Nice job ol longbeard great looking blind you should get extra points for taking the youngster Ranger you should give extra points for taking kids along 24 days till the opener here. Odds are against you guys though 99 percent of the teams who score first peter out in the 4th quarter but those are based on world class athletes such as the commandos I dont think it would apply to you old timers but anyway your in the book good job

Well gang.. we have been called elders,Ol timers and old folks now that is what they call us now,but in the end they will be calling us:Winners,Champions,#1,Dream Team and it goes on and on. It looks like were gonna have to give em a good spanking to get the message across.Sometimes thats the only alternative for unruly brats!!!!!!!!!

Ya'll can call yourselves world class athletes if'n ya want to, but the proof will be in the final numbers. BTW I'd a thought that World Class Athletes such as yourselves would be hiding somewhere if ya let a bunch of "Old" guys put the whoopin' on ya so early in the game.

Hey what about giving 25 bonus points to the hunters who take a kid under 10 years old hunting with them EVERYDAY? We can add it to the points you get of what ever you kill.

I've been wondering where all these references to us being "old" come from. Just because RIdgehunter's middle name is Methuselah don't mean anything. Neither does the name of our team. OVER THE HILL doesn't stand for our age. Haven't you ever heard, "The grass is greener on the far side of the hill." ? That is where we are. We are--

Over the hill and through the woods to the tree house we go
We will spend all day watching the way
And taking deer with our bows.

And then there is this oldie:

On the far side of the hill;

From all the teams with bigger points still.

So, if it makes you guys feel better to think of us as poor decrepit old guys wearing Gramper Pampers then you go ahead and do that.
Besides we know that although Hunter770 wants everyone to think he is wearing a jock, it is really thick, absorbent underwear because he dribbles when he gets to laughing too hard.

9 days until small game season! Time for some stew or roast grouse. The .410 single is polished and ready. If I have the time, I may set up a small game rig for "Black Beauty", my crossbow. "Methuselah" is ready to lock and load.

Not everybody on this team uses wheels Vixenmaster. My recurve does right fine for me.
