415 Amped Speeds

I'm reading how folks aren't getting speeds near 415 fps but more like 390 with the recommended bolt weight, I do know of one person who has this crossbow and swears he is getting 409 fps with the recommended bolt weight.

What speeds are you getting with your centerpoint 415?

Also the recommended bolt weight is 400 gr. is that with a 100 gr field point/broadhead?

That recommended weight does include the tip on the arrow. Most guys are probably using a heavier arrow for less stress on the limbs and to quiet it down a bit. JMO though...…...

Outdoor Life got 388 fps with a 402 grain arrow. I'd be shocked if he got anywhere near 409 fps.

CenterPoints "up-to" speed rating of 415 is based on testing with a 370 gn arrow. I've still found that the actual speed we see in the field is closer to 400 fps with a 370 gn arrow. With the supplied 400 gn arrows I commonly record 390ish speeds.

The same holds true on the 390, 425 and 430 xbows I've owned, which all come from their ManKung built xbows.

Regardless of the advertised vs actual speed differences, I still find the 415, 425, 430 series of xbows a great value.

Since we dug up an old post, I dug up my old notes. With a 400 grain arrow, my 415 averaged 392.6 fps for three shots.
