A new Samsung 65” Q80R QLED tv.

My 10 year old 63” plasma was showing some annoying purple blotches on both sides plus a purplish swath thru the middle of the screen - but it only showed up against light colored backgrounds. Regular TV, movies, and football games were fine but it was annoying when the screen turn to lighter colors.

Can’t wait for the game tonight - Go LSU.

Great purchase! I'm still using my 15+ year old plasma. It's doing quite good... except it's only 43". LOL

My guess is that now that whitetail season is over in Mi. he wants to get up close and personal with some "trophy hunting" tv shows. LOL

I hope you have better luck with your Samsung than I had with mine that decided after 2 years to start speaking a language that no one can possibly understand. I went out and bought a replacement TV. Today's TVs are throw out items like disposable lighters.

The kids gave me a 65" for Christmas. I really like hockey on the 65" vs old 42"

We have a 27" and my wife has been saying we need a new TV more than I need a crossbow. She is wrong and my old bows kill deer just fine. Like I said to her we got rid of cable ain't getting sattelite so why do we need a TV.

My dads samsung 61" makes the entire screen have a green tint. I'm so glad I got the last of the Sony swap a bulb TV's.

That's funny you brought this topic up ! This is my frame of mind also and what i did was bought 3 nice Citizen Eco Drive watches. They are quite expensive ones. I've all ways liked the idea of a watch that never needs a battery or winding to keep it running.
The one in the last pic is the most expensive one. It's Radio controlled and made of Titanium and it's a Limited Edition from the U.K. they don't market them over here in the US. I found it on ebay.

I used to be a watch freak and bought many over the years. Then one day along came the smart phone and I have not worn a watch since buying one. Nice walking around with a little bitty computer in my pocket that always has the correct time displayed and cost a fraction of what most of the watches cost. ;)

The only negative about that is that we tend to become possessed with them and stare at them all day........and night, like in doing right now:p

I have to laugh whenever I go to the Dr office, or somewhere there’s a crowd of people - everyone is looking down at their phones.

More prominent with the younger people but I see a lot of older people doing the same.

When I was a kid we thought it was cool to stretch a string between 2 cans and talk to each other across the yard.

I decided to buy a peddle drive fishing kayak and an Ebike. About the same price as a new flagship crossbow... Maybe next year something from ATA will catch my interest enough to spend my fun money but not holding my breath.

What eBike did you find for a decent price?

I like them because the run off the light, they never die. The symbolism is perfect.

That's why I'm putting my focus back on a good ol'fashioned watch. Smartphones are nice but nothing beats a pretty watch when it comes to reading the time of day in a convenient way. When I'm at work I don't have time to fiddle with my phone or if I'm out in the woods enjoying nature. A smartphone is the last thing I want to hear from !

They are handy for alot of things Bob but, nothing beats a fine watch. I.M.O.

I know exactly how you feel ! I think it's ashame ! Your right next to a person but they'd rather stare at the phone and ignore you. I think that's why there's so much hate and fighting going on with people; because they know all they have to do is contact their buddies through their cell phone. There's a whole new level to prejudices and mixed emotions because of the internet. Life is not as simple as it used to be before there were smartphones.....

Now that's a nice purchase ! An Ebike with a cart !
