Any local archery shop should have someone on hand to reserve a string. If they don't, they ain't much of an archery shop.

Boo is also an EXCELLENT string guy!! In my humble opinion, he makes the best custom strings on the market.

My local archery shop wanted $25 to re-do a single center serving, and that was me bringing him the string off the bow.

Also found a local compound vertical bow string maker. He said he won't touch crossbow center servings.

I've finally just gotten around to watching all the videos on how to do it.....seems simple enough, but no way my hands are strong enough to pull hard enough.

Tyler, I guess I'm lucky.
I have a local guy that has a bow shop. TP guy. He re-served an old string for me for $10 bucks and that included tax.
I just don't trust my own judgement enough to try it.

I hope everyone finds a local "Go To Guy". (y)

It’s not that hard. If you have a crossbow, especially an Excal, if you can learn how to do it (barring physical limitations), it just makes sense. Blacktail (Mike) is certainly better than I am, but mine are passable, last for a season of shooting and hunting, and it takes 10 minutes or a bit more with taking the old serving off. That said, I can’t do any reservings for a while until I build a new jig and my shoulder is ready. It’s a good idea to always have a spare string or two with fresh serving to quickly swap out when needed.
