Looking at one of these two recurves to replace my Middleton 375ss. I will be using the Excalibur crank due to back surgeries. I hear the bulldog (matrix) limbs will be more reliable, is this true? Primary use is deer hunting in Michigan, shots under 30 yards. I will probably use a 390 grain arrow.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've owned both..the Axe/Mag 340 is a nice bow..Riser has had some material taken out so it lightens up the front end some. The 340 has more vibration at the shot in my opinion.
You can get the 340 in both regular and Takedown versions.
The bulldog 360...I like the bullpup design better but needs an improved trigger in my opinion. I would add either a Triggertech or Excalibur's aftermarket trigger.
I actually had my BD 360 cut down to a 330 and still have it in my arsenal.
I like the Matrix limbs better overall as they seem more forgiving.
In either case, I'd contact Excal and get a spare set of limbs for the 340 or the 360.
It's cheap insurance in case you would need it.
