No. should last longer than that. Try waxing the serving to prevent wear. If it's separating this soon, it may be an indication of a bad string.

What are you seeing on serving wear on yours (how many shots before seeing wear or serving separation)? I would guess the steep string angle might be a factor for serving separation.

I'm not seeing any separation as yet after 50 some shots. There is slight serving deformation, largely where the hooks engage, waxing seems to help. One problem I am having is keeping the arrows from penetrating too far into the target, esp under 30 yards. Will have to break down and buy some new targets.
The Morrell bag works if hit where few arrows hit before but my home made bags, of grain sacks with tightly packed plastic bags, are not up to catching what she throws. Even the Block (not new) has trouble keeping the vanes from burying.
