Deer taken through the coconut.

Ten years ago I had the privilege of being able to shoot lots of antlerless deer only on a nuisance permit given by ODNR.
All shots were from 25 to 35 yards tops.I was running a cheap barnett at probably less than 300 fps. Anyway it did the job.
No need to do that again. In one summer I took close to 30 on one 1000 acre farm

, all meat was taken by the Amish community.Back of coconut and out.

Once again this was a one time deal on a nuisance permit,I don't condone it but bodies needed to be shown as well as crop damage to justify the ODNR to re-issue the permits, no deer were wasted all taken ethically by that I mean DRT.
A disgusting display of pompous disregard
for the animal.

Why post such pics?

If you're offended don't bother looking, hunting forums are repulsive to some,no more disregard than shooting one through the heart and watch him run off and tumble, ODNR didn't have a problem with it. No laws against it, and head shots have been a topic here at some point I believe.

Let me make my self clear. I'm not hearing on you and what kind of shots you take on deer.

Do you, it's your dirt and your responsibility if you muck up the shot and the deer runs off with the arrow hanging out its head and dies in someone's yard.

I'm just saying I'm not doing such and not allowing such on my dirt, as I personally feel shots like that with a bow are unethical.

But I dont feel it's my place to tell others what they can do on there dirt.

But it is a bad look, to be honest.

Deer running off with an arrow in head would be an impossibility, since there were many guns backing me up should something go awry, once again the ODNR didn't have any issues, deer needed to be removed and that's what we did all summer. It's legal to shoot a deer in the head any place deer can be taken with bows, the ethical part is up to the shooter and knowing his capabilities and limitations. On a subsequent hunt, I dropped a dozen deer in two evenings with a Tikka T1X 22 rifle all drt all very dead.deer nuisance permits operate outside the area of what's legal and ethical compared to regulatory seasons open to the public. THX for listening.

Just "policing the ranks".

The hunting community is facing enough hurdles as it stands. Distasteful and disrespectful pics aired out on the internet are in poor tast and judgement.

Australia just outlawed bow hunting in South Australia btw.

I'm just not a good enough shot to shoot a deer in the head, I need the bigger targets, but I don't see a big difrence; dead is dead. Spined a few, an really appreciated not havin to go find em, but I'm not a "sport" hunter, I hunt for meat an revenge. Revenge for what they do to my orchard.
The OP was hired or recruited to kill. Looks like he's pretty good at it. I saw some o his coyote pix with head shots an don't recall any uproar about it?

Whatever it takes to help you sleep at night sir.

Like I already stated it's your dirt and your responsibility.

I will say this. If you had a rifle backing you up. That tells me you had nearly zero confidence in your shooting abilities and are were afraid the weapon system wasn't up to the task.

Should have just shot it with the rifle instead.

But hey you do you.

Wyo21 an others, I believe yer really good guys who love our sport BUT the claim "A disgusting display of pompous disregard for the animal.", ifya think about it, ANY time we kill an animal, ain't we exhibitin a disregard for it? Otherwise we wouldn't kill it, I would think. We need to be careful we don't fall inta the trap so many fall inta today where we begin to worship wildlife (animals) and hold human life in low regard.
I doubt thers many on here who'd have a problem shootin a snarlin coon or coyote caught in a trap in the head, so I'm havin a little difficulty figurin out the difference. It's like it's OK to shoot 1 animal in the head but not another? I think the difference might just be the Disney factor, and how deep the animal rights agenda has influenced even hunters without us realizin the depth of it.
I plan on continuin to hunt an kill animals, but make ther sufferin as short as I can. I doubt that deer suffered.
In any case, I quit wringin my hands over what nonhunters think, animal rights wackos won't be happy until guns or other weapons are done away with an thers no one left on earth but people like them, an when it's no longer legal ta hunt, they'll still pitch a fit everytime somebody kills a mouse. That kinda thought process is a mental disease today.

You apparently know little about me , I can make you run like a bunny rabbit if I start inundating you with what I'm capable of but it would only waste precious time here.
Bodyguards three presidents, metro swat:sleep:, the list goes on,shooting a large target like a deer , is a cupcake with double frosting, have a good day.
