New thread to track our progress with Field Points and Broadhead shooting.
Maybe even some hunting pics, should the mood or opportunity arise.

Scope is mounted and somewhat centered and leveled, good enough for 20 yard sight-in.
Target Shed is cleared of snow and targets are stacked.

No energy to shoot today so starting a thread to post a couple pics and videos for easy reference of the cocking and decocking sequence, as well as the Owner's and Stringing Aid Instructions Manuals as attachments and links.

Yes, I am bored right now.

I find the Overwatch Scope wind and elevation marks to be very useful.
My brain does not work as fast as it used to, trying to calculate how many clicks at how many yards for adjustments.
In fact, I carry cheat sheets in each xbow case.

In practice, as a guideline:
The TwinStrike will be our 20 to 60 yards xbow.
The Ravin will be for 20 to 80 yards.
The Vapor RS470 for 20 to 100+ yards.

Elevation adjust:

The TwinStrike will be our first test with the TruGlo Titanium Mechanical Broadheads.
Looks like a deadly combo.

Will fire both barrels at the same time into a Morrell High Roller 21 Target.

We shall see if the TruGlos are as good as many are saying.
They sure do feel as though they are built to both dish out and take abuse.

Love to see reviews on new toys!! Will be watching for updates!!
I would also like to hear which of your bows is the quieter one in your collection or is there enough difference to notice much.

Yup, we enjoy seeing pics of other's set ups as well.
I don't have a db meter but I bet there is an App for that, will have to check it out.
It may not be the most accurate db meter but it's better than nothing, IMO.

So far, I've only shot twice at the Dealer's, inside and short range.
I really don't recall how loud it was so it could not have been that bad.
For sure it was not as loud as the local gun range LOL.
Then again, my hearing is not the greatest anymore, neither.
:(
Will do my best to post up as much as I can and glad some are enjoying it.
Cheers,

Dave from Wyvern has some comments on the TwinStrike.
One of his comments about the rails and scope is that the arrows stay parallel full distance.
I have read others state that the arrows converge at 50 yards, which I personally do not believe would be a good thing.
I mean who wants to robin hood arrows on purpose?
Not me.
Real world testing will tell soon enough but now, work gets in the way.
Make it a great day, all!

Life is getting in the way of shooting, not much I can do about that right now.
Anyway...
Here are a couple of views through the OverWatch scope, including close-up of reticles.
Progressively smaller circles and yardage markers are handy, IMO.
Oops forgot to turn the illumination on and yes, the scope needs to be aligned and tightened again.
Should have left well enough alone.
But you get the idea.

Went to Family Dr today, got two weeks downtime, off work yahoo!
Set up appts with Heart Dr at Heart Institute for ECG/EKG and stress test.
Ticker is acting up again.

But the real bummer is I have to stay off the keyboards for two weeks, right arm is getting bad.
So (as Wife is yelling at me from upstairs to get off the PC) I figured I should re-align the scope I mucked up the other day.

Hope to dial it in at 20 yards tomorrow then get to the range to do the 50 yard and beyond.
Hey, I am not using a keyboard, right?

Well, except for this post. :)
BTW, I am trusting the self aligning laser level above and beyond the bubble levels.

Thanks Canespider, yes another couple months for the Kraken!

SO, I shot twice from 10 yards today, top barrel only,
Good thing I started from 10 yards as first shot was 3" high and 3" left.
Next shot was 1.5" high and 1.5" left.

Slowly but surely in the next week or two I will get it to 50 yards, come rain or shine.
Although I am supposed to be resting, I have ants in pants all my life.
This is soooo frustrating but I gotta go slow.

Will say a prayer for ya for sure! Hope you get the good to go signal soon!
Thank you Chop, appreciate it.

So, the ants were crawling around in my pants and I took 4 shots in the basement..
Two shots to dial in at 9 yards, two to chrono.

Used a db Meter app to measure the sound level.
Sound level is consistent 86.7db, which is at par with most xbows these days I presume?

334 fps twice in a row.
Top rail only tonight.

Maybe double barrel tomorrow since no one in the house was complaining.
Wife was upstairs in the kitchen and said it sounded like I dropped a stack of printer paper on the ceramic tile in the basement, if that helps to imagine the sound level?

Pic of the basement range, 9 yards. I could get 11-12 yards but would have to move stuff around, not worth it for me, spring is coming and I can get 30 yards in the back.

Bulls at 9 yards, did not bury two deep in the SpyderWeb No Speed Limit.
Next is 20 yards, then 50.
I think 50 is tops for this xbow and arrows.
Wind would definitely come into play after 50 I believe but I will stretch it to at least 70 at the range, for the halibut.

Yep, sounds on par with most of the tests I have seen on the web give it take a tad. You gonna get in trouble shooting that crossbow before doc gives the go ahead.
I have to say, when I first heard about that xbow, I figured it would be a cumbersome pain. It doesn’t seem anything like my pre conceived notions. Much slicker, nicely put together and with good features
