Anyone using the PAPS Tester when fletching arrows to identify the stiff side and what are your thoughts on it??

I have one as well as the Ram. The Ram is much more precise and the PAPS can be misleading. When comparing a shaft from one machine to the next, you quickly see that the Ram is the way to go albiet not as fast as the PAPS. Both will do the job but like I said, the PAPS can be misleading because you're going by feel. The nice thing about the PAPS is that you can add an arrow spinner and a squaring device to the same base. I really never liked the RAM until I replaced the polyethylene hangers with bearings and aluminum bracket to hang the weight on the shaft. With the polyethylene brackets the dial gauge acts a bit erratically.

Ditto on replacing the poly hangers with bearings.

As far as the OP's question, I have no experience with the PAPS.
