Just sharing a pic of the first deer for me ever with a crossbow! Yep, she's a baldy but darn good eating and a balance in the buck to doe ratio.
7 am quartering away shot at 25 yards...went 40 yards and dropped.

One down...may to go!

They are phenomenal! Steve was right and they will be my crossbow broadhead choice from here on! Huge hole on entry and exit. Blood trail so crazy you can close one eye and squint out of the other and follow that blood!

That my buddy’s house. I was out alone and had no one to take my picture in the woods. He’s set up to butcher deer so I go by him when I get one. We’re cutting deer up weekly!
Weekly!!!!? Dude!!!! Man, ya must have more deer than we do out here!!!

We have so many whitetails in NJ that we can shoot a bunch of does with the bow! You can take 2 bucks- one with your regular tag and one with your extended season tag. Then in winter bow you get another buck tag with the WB permit . That doesn't include how many you can take with the shotgun and muzzleloader!
The car insurance companies have lobbied the politicians in NJ for a more broader bag limit on deer because we have so many car/deer collisions here. Just in front of my house at least 2-3 deer get hit every fall!

As far as butchering that many goes, there's 5 of us that are in our group of hunting friends. At any given time one or more of us are out in the woods bow hunting. You multiply 5 guys by the limits I just explained above and you get mucho mucho venison to cut up all season. Remember, bow season starts in early October here and ends January 31st here. Then in Late Nov, early muzzleloader, then shotgun in early Dec, then muzzleloader again and finish up with winter bow. Our state is divided into deer zones. Certain zones are either sex even with a firearm. You're also allowed to buy a permit for each zone you'd like to hunt in. It adds up to a lot of deer if you want.
My buddies and I don't get greedy... a few deer each fills the freezer for the entire winter and spring.
